Forums - Sony Discussion - Geoff Keighley: Mass Effect 2 Will Come To PS3, EA Just Can’t Talk About It Yet

Without ME1 it rather pointless. Mass Effect isn't like Final Fantasy. Each Final Fantasy game is it's own contained story and universe. Not only doesn't ME2 continue the story of ME1, the choices you made in the first game directly effect your quest in ME2.

i dont see how this is a confirmation? he seid that he thinks it will come to the ps3 it just seems like hes reinforcing the "me2 on ps3" rumor.

Did i say it's confirmed?

As all x360 "exclusives" I want are also on the PC I am not to bothered if it is on PS3 or not.

Either way suits me.

@CGI

I agree.

Exclusives helps to define a console and makes the whole industry more interesting.

If all console had the same games it would be damn boring and take away a very important segment of our debates.

There is always an argument for the opposing view but I'll back this one.

That's my two cents

Of course it will.
There's no such thing as exclusive third party between the HD consoles now*.

I believe this and the agent are going multiplat. And Splinter Cell, and Versus... etc.
Want exclusives? Buy the damn studio and IP. That's how it works now, and that's how it'll work from now on until we have a clear winner between the two - which won't happen anytime soon.

*valve and some very loyal second/third party may be the only exceptions. But then again, i wouldn't be so sure. The tendecy, imo, is to get worse.

God I hope not. This keeps the 360 different from the PS3. They don't need the same games.

How?

How what exactly?

Why do the 360 and PS3 games have to be diffrent.

You'd rather have the same games on TWO systems?

If there not owned by the consoule company I don't see why not.

Well, I guess we clash there. I'm sorry, exclusives shape the market, though there are definitely some noteworthy multiplats. But for two systems to have as many of the same games as the PS3 and 360 already have is a bit of a letdown to me. Fortunatley though, they have enough respectable exclusives to be worth the purchase of either one.

One of the reasons the Wii was able to take off was because it was different. You think it'd be the phenomenon it is today if it shared the 360 & PS3's multiplatform library? I'm going with a no.

Yes the wii sucess is based on it has something diffrent no one else had.But that was because of it's motion control not it's game library.

And if the system needs exclusives it's the job of the 1st party devolpers 3rd party shoulded release exclusive games it cuts there profit.

So, the Wii's library has nothing to do with it's MASSIVE success? Oh dear...

No.

I wouldn't mind at all if every game was multiplatform except for the exclusives made by each hardware maker's own developers. They would have to really up the quality of their releases to compete with everyone else on their systems. Sony and Nintendo already have excellent first party efforts, but Microsoft would have to invest much more on that end.

I'm currently playing the first Mass Effect on my PC and will gladly wait for the second one on my PS3.

I agree but only because EA owns them now and that's what EA does.

It just makes finacial sense.

Unless Mass Effect 2 doesn't bring in profit, which is unlikely, I don't think they'll be financially in any trouble.

I think he's referring to EA in general which isin't in good shape.
