Looks to me that MS is doing just fine with the 360, as long as excellent exclusive games keep coming out then I really don't care what happens.

we are far, far, very far from the ps2/ dreamcast situation... dreamcast was dead before ps2 was in the market... ps3 hasn't managed to catch 360 in 3 years.

MS is fine. They can sit on their 1st party laurels, making Natal party games, all they like.

Halo saves the day, if you've forgotten. Saved the XBox 1, gave rise to the popularity of the 360... Reach will keep the 360 going for another 3 years, long enough for another Halo installment to happen.

The first non-Bungie Halo... *that's* where it gets ugly. MS shouldn't sweat until then.

That pretty much tells the whole story right there. Sony's market share shrunk by over three times, Microsoft's market share more than doubled and Nintendo's market share increased slightly more than four-fold. Huge triumph for Nintendo, great moral victory for Microsoft, huge dissapointment for Sony.

This gen is still young and has only reached slightly more than 3/4 of the unit volume of last gen (136m v. 180m for last gen's consoles) but even taking that into account, the losses for Sony are massive. With numbers like this, it's impossible that all these Nintendo converts are "new gamers". It looks like a good chunk of the PS2 base defected to the Wii. Has to be the case. If not, where are those 100m+ PS2 owners without a PS3?

I think that natal is going to make up a lot in japan, but we can only wait but a price drop would be nice and i think they don't really care so much about losing a little gound. What they are doing is making up ground on the loss they took on the first xbox. they are playing it safe.

People are still buying xboxes and I think natal will light a fire under the sales.

PRICE CUT STILL SHOULD HAPPEN IN THE NEXT COUPLE MONTHS TO PUT PRESSURE ON SONY.

DON'T LET THEM MAKE MONEY AND I THEY OVER ALL ARE THE REAL WINNER. Just like what ps2 did to xbox, almost stop M$ in there tracks. good luck they got deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep  pockets.

MS still has the lead because of head start their of course their doing fine but when ps3 overtakes 360 we will change our argument from "360 still has the lead" to sumthing that favors the 360 just like how the argument went from "haha ps3 getting trashed weekly sales" to "MS sells more software so it doesn't matter" before the ps3 slim launch.

Anyway none of the consoles right now is doomed TBH.

Oh, don't worry, 360 is selling fine, and MS is making money and they have exclusives on the way.
