Modern Warfare managed about 4 million in the equivalent period, while World at War managed 2.5 million. I doubt it will manage what MW did as it has had a much higher launch to offset legs, but it should manage World at War figures.

I always had faith on that guy! :D

Easily. It'll reach 25 million LT.

Yeah good for Pachter.

Looks likely to me. I guess when he says by November he means a full 1st year.... ie what it will have sold 52 weeks from launch.

It has 42 weeks to sell 2.36 million.... that's an average of 56k per week, now it will go down in weekly sales through the year but the last week it did almost 245k

It could do 20 million all said & done!!!

hmmm, possibly, but assuming the current VGC figures are correct (and ignoring PC version as usual) I will say I doubt it.

My last post detailed that MW managed 4 million in that period, while World at War managed only 2.5 million..... both of them had about the same sales for the equivalent current week as MW2 does now (about 235-245k for all three games) and yet they managed such different figures for the extended period.
With such a huge launch it could be that it falls short of selling 18 million after 52 weeks... though I still think it is likely to make it. I don't think it will manage another 2 million from then on though.

Like someone mentioned before I had also the feeling that some of his last predictions were right.

Someone should make a Thread about his predictions to make sure if this guy should get more credibility.

He has usually been pretty good on most of his predictions.... but most of the ones he does well on are for the months NPD numbers, his long term ones are often off the mark, but this one looks good.

I vaguely remember someone posting a thread about the accuracies of some of the gaming "professional" analysts.... I think Pachter was the best, or 2nd.... and only the top 2 managed better than 50% accuracy (both being about 60%) though I don't know how it was worked out so can't tell how useful it is.

hmm ok.

I think if we count PC sales, by the end of this gen it may very well be past 20 Million shipments wise.

I think its even more impressive if MW2 is doing what COD4 & WAW did in this week, considering it had the highest launch of the 3.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Pachter and was right don't seem to belong in the same sentence. Does not compute!
