The Wii is exceptionally popular with its technology that is not much beyond the last generation of Consoles. Apart from the innovative Controls, i believe the low entry price was a big factor in its popularity.

Do you think Nintendo will continue this Strategy? Releasing their next Console with something that has become "low cost" technology at the time, or will they go all out and take a step forward and use the latest tech available to surpass their competitors.

 

Edit: i did not realize what a sensible term "Wii HD" obviously is. Now let me clarify i simply mean the Next Generation Nintendo Console

Are you asking how it will compare to current-gen consoles or the next-gen consoles it will actually be competing with?

I think you mean the latter, I just want to be clear that we aren't living in Pachter's dream universe here.

I predict Wii-HD will be 50% as powerful as PS4/X720, around 6 times as strong as the X360/PS3. It will be 1080p HD, but not 3D like it's competition... and the PS4/X720 duo shall be known as the 3D twins.

There will be no Wii HD.

There will be a Nintendo HD console -- but it won't be just a Wii HD.

If they want to compete on price again from launch, they can't build one as powerful as the others and seeing that their ploy worked this gen I don't see them shaking up the recipe much next gen.

I think Nintendo continue theres... inovation over Power focus.. I see WiiHD being less powerfull then current Gen but alot stronger then Wii but doing some unique ass things as well

that's why i wrote "competing Consoles", actually it would depend on the time of release, but i believe Nintendo will take its time before releasing another generation.

So, yes the next generation of consoles! Besides i don't believe whatever Nintendo comes up with would be less powerful then the HD-Twins

I voted "Other", in lieu of a "Nonexistent" option... Nintendo likely won't go full HD until the technology (as well as the HDTV set) becomes a lot cheaper and easier to make and buy... I mean, when the average MSRP of the HDTV set becomes less than $750, THEN we'll talk...

Well, it depends on the competition, doesn't it? There's a possibility that the competition (MS, Sony or any newcomers) acknowledge that graphics have become a commodity and hence don't compete on that basis either. Or they may push forward along the same path, we don't know yet.
