Lag in MAG? Nope, haven't experienced it personally, and I've played in 256-player battles. I can comfortably say that this won't be a game for everyone but know MANY people who are buying it.

Regardless, Sony officially has the coolest ad-campaigns in the biz.

@DGC, if you don't know the type of lag i'm talking about, you wouldn't notice it in the game, especially without killcam.  It's something all MW2 players know and hate quite well though.  Also, just curious, but is your connection speed in mb or kb?  Because 100+mb connection is pretty much non-existant except in a very select few areas in Europe or something military.

@CGI, is it true that they use invisible walls, and that most of the time it isn't actually 128v128 and is just smaller squad battles?  Thats just some of the stuff I heard and I want to know what the reality is.  Is it really 128v128, or is it basically a giant map that is broken down into much smaller map sections via invisible walls and focuses on squad vs. squad combat?

You don't always see that many players on screen but they are there and the game gets hectic. It's fun though, just not the kind of game that I personally go for. I hope those that do buy it though, love it.

Can you be specific though?  Does it really kind of block groups off via invisible walls and such so its not really as large of a scale as they claimed and its more of an illusion?  Like you have your 8v8 or 16v16 battle going on, and you can see other battles at other places, but can't take place in anything outside of your limited area battle?

It sounds like you haven't played MAG.

I'm not sure about this invisible walls thing but in 256Player Dominations I felt no restriction what so ever in where I could go. I'm pretty sure I was able to walk between 1 to 4 out of 8 main objectives which would mean an area of atleast 128 players.

Also, you didn't answer my question regarding whether you were referring to the open or closed beta.

I really love these commercials. They do make me laugh quite a bit. However I think this game is one big false advertisement... everyone I know that played the beta has said that TDM works great, but the objective stuff doesn't. They also said it has lag in the same way that MW2 does (like you fire 5 shots into some guys chest, but on kill cam you didn't even fire).

Crap, I know I'm sounding negative on the PS3, but that's not my intention. I just wanna hear from peeps who actually played this game the way it was intended and actually had a good match with others doing the same. My one buddy loved the beta and will likely get this game, so maybe I'll be able to play it soon

that's becacuse everyone you know who played the beta is a dumbass that shouldn't play anything but MW2, tell them ALL to stay far away from this game!!!!!

p.s. they didn't even touch the game as there is no killcam

Wow, what a great counter argument.  /sarcasm

And I'm not saying that MAG has killcam.  I was giving an example of the lag there is.  You don't get to watch it in kill cam, but the same thing happens where you fire 5 shots at someone and its as if nothing was fired at all (like in MW2).  Same with bullet lag around corners.

yeah and uhh that's bullshit, mw2 has the lag because it's a poorly built game, with a garbage netcode. MAG isn't and your dumbass ass friends have no idea what they're talking about. See guys this is what mw2 has done.................. *facepalm*

let me explain bullet lag in a game is about consistency, if it takes 5 shots to kill some then it should always take 5 shots to kill someone, this of course varies given position of the bullet, that's why headshot take less. MAG has consistancy. It does take 5 shots to kill someone................ all the time, not 5 shots 1 time, 3 shots the next, 2shots the next and empty your whole freaking ckilp and barely do any damage at all, like in MW2, kinda pathetic that a developers frist stab at fps is not only 10x bigger than a veteran but it has little to no lag and is very consistant. To me IW is the Micheal Bay of developers if you get my meaning.

Your dumbas friends problem was that they are in the "if it's not instakill then it's broken" crowd, shame but what can you do right, I'll tell you what you can do you can try your best to keep those retards from playing and ruining everything elese. My biggest problem with your post was the fact that they said the game works good as an TDM, which means they are fucking reatrds who are incapable of following simple directions, and those idiots you see walling around trying to do nothing but get kills are them, the main perception of the game gets ruined by morons.................. and they talk abolut it as though they know anything, MW2 has crafted a legion of noob retards, and that's not the problem the problem is these dumbasses actually think they are good and know anything about fps. they're retarded actions lead others to believe the game wont work, thoes frinds of yours are ruining the experience for those who actually want to play the game. That why I say to you tell them to stay FAR away from this game.

You can walk around the whole map. It's just that, that MAG is a tactical shooter and the team operate in smallest teams from 8 players on various targets at the edge of the map to the bigger targets in the middle of the maps. The last 8 targets in the middle are close together so that fights there will get very crowded as all 16 8-man squads gather in those regions to fill the damage bar.

That was awesome. I thought it much better than the Best Buy BOOM ad. Mr. Butler is better when put in a situation that is awkward, rather than one where he is agreeable with someone.

@gamings_best, You do realize the game has play types for just TDM gameplay, right? *facepalm*
Also, MW2 is no different from any other FPS. If you are good at it, you are good at them all. Especially if you play it right and use teamwork rather than just camp or go run'n'gun. What I am talking about in MW2 has nothing to do with consistency, though I do not understand your argument. Bullets hitting different parts of the body should cause different amounts of damage. This seems far more realistic than always taking the same amount of bullets no matter where you hit. The issue with MW2 is just from latency/lag. That's why I used the killcam example because it proves that in that split .5 second gun battle, you may have shot 5 bullets on your screen, but due to latency, the other person never saw you fire to begin with and he is the one that gets the kill then. MAG is dedicated servers, so that should help tremendously on this type of lag, and I was not trying to say it occurs as often as it does in MW2. From what I hear the lag is very very minor in MAG.

@Dgc, yes it was the open beta, and no I have not played it. I am speaking purely by ear from what I have heard.

@CGI, thanks for clarifying. I wonder if anyone has actually played in a 128v128 setup?

So if they wanted, all 16 8-man teams could meet at one place and do battle without following the outer area objectives?
