Now the whole Metroid: Other M at one is well surprising but guys look at Metroid over the last decade. Hell look at Metroid since it came out. Bar maybe the Zelda franchise, this game has been the definition of quality for the core gaming community. Then Ninty goes and says a new approach made by a new team (Metroid Prime and Retro studios to reminisce) and of course it's going to be hyped haha. I didn't expect number 1, but I knew the game would be on the list.

I disagree with some of the order but they have a solid top 10. Of course if Zelda could have made the list it probably would have been top 3 domination by the Wii Ninty triforce haha. But most of those games I'm looking forward to and shows just how good of a year we have for 2010 which is better than a very bland 2009.

HAHA Loved the List. This has been a HUGE middle finger to the HD Flamers!! (which are btw GT's main audience, i think they forgot). The meltdown in the commentary seccion has been an awesome read.

In all seriousness though, I think people are forgetting what was mention at the begining of the video, " There must be some kind of mystery behind a game for it to rank high" Not that they expect for a game to be better than the other. In that extent i think is safe to say that the winners are well deserved, because we have seen nothing but one trailer from both the games.

I just gotta lol at the people in the GT comments section bitching about the top 2 just because Nintendo games.. Really shows their true colors. I mean seriously, how the hell can anyone in the right mind hate Nintendo? It's like hating chocolate, bacon, and sex.

Metroid Other M, was in my opinion the biggest surprise of E3 last year. The fact that Team Ninja and Nintendo have teamed up for one of gamings most beloved franchises was a real shocker. As the guy said, just the mere fact that it is those two, that seem to have totally different mindsets on gaming have teamed up is really something.

Also the expansion of the Metroid Universe is something that every single Metroid fan has been waiting for. I have personally scanned and read every single log in all three Metroid Primes, just because it is one of my favorite gaming universes. I think the number 1 on the list was fair.

Metroid Other M was the biggest surprise of E3, even more than Natal. I didn't expect that from Nintendo.

Are HD fans ever happy?  If they would have said GoW, then the 360 fans would have complained.  If they would have said Halo, then the PS3 fans would have complained.  If they would have said a multiplatform game (such as FFXIII), then people would have complained it wasn't a game like Halo or GoW.

Frankly, despite what people say, Wii is still the most popular system and their reasoning is quite sound.  While Metroid: Other M might not be the 'most anticipated' game, Wii titles from sure are.  Stuff like Mario Galaxy 2 and Zelda Wii especially.  But the reason they most likely chose Metroid: Other M, as I said in the comments section of GameTrailers, is because unlike with all th HD games or even other Wii games, its the one game that is actually being developed by a third party AND a first party.  And has a chance to both be a fresh start for its series along with not being just another sequel.  While everything else on the list was just sequels and as a result, is riding the hype of previous games.
