You linked to the June article, but I guess it doesn't matter.

Jokes on him wii HD is in consequential, new super mario bros causes all competitor's to die, and all business models to be broker, for that is the law of the brothers.

I linked to the June article because it specifically says that he means an entirely new console. Just to make sure that Pachter can't say he's right if Nintendo does something like an upscaling/uprendering solution.

There is an easy way to settle this, put Patcher and Reggie in a deep dark muddy pit and let them fight to the death, winner gets to pick if and when the Wii HD comes out.

When you've got a cashcow like the Wii, I guess you would like to keep things staus quo.

Still my favorite Nintendo console of all time by far was the Super Nintendo, and I sure would like to see a Nintendo console in the current gen more in line with both the SNES' technical strengths compared to the consoles of its time (prior to the release of the Jag, 3do and cd-I) as well as more in line with the type of content that was on the SNES as compared to what makes up most of the bestselling software on Wii.
