Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Pachter: Epic Regrets Signing Exclusive Gears Of War Contract With Microsoft

why it is like saying Kojima regrets making MGS4 a ps3 exclusive

More typical garbage from that analyst.

That must be why Epic keeps praising Natal, doing Shadow Complex and Microsoft is investing in Gears of War 3 & Shadow Complex 2...because Epic regrets making money.

TBH Mike, wouldn't it be more obvious to point out games that killed the company (Haze & Lair breaking Free Radical & Factor 5) as bigger regrets rather then companies that make blockbusters?

I personally guarantee all of you I will be playing the multiplat gears of war 3 on my Wii HD by the end of 2010

I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!

NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't matter what he thinks, Epic and Microsoft both made a ton of money from Gears, so just shut up patcher it's only the 21st and I'm already sick of you this year.

If FF can go multiplat why not Gears. FFVII also become very succssful because of Sony's marketing. I dont see why Microsoft effort on marketing can be used as an ecxuse for them to keep it as exclusive franchise. Same for Metal Gear.

Final Fantasy started with Nintendo, not Sony. It was already multiplat. Gears of War going to PS3  is the equivalent of God of War going to the 360.

Except that god of war is nowhere near big franchise as GOW. More like gran turismo going to 360.

Why not? With Natal coming microsft needs the money to advertise it, and besides that Gears of War isn't that big of a hardware bumper just like Halo or CoD.

I think they could very well get rid of GoW exclusivity, save some bucks and Epic makes more money on multiplatform gears of war.

"More money????"

Yeah, I bet with you that Gears4 for the next gen consoles will have a development cost so high it will take 4 or 5 years to produce.

I think every Big Publisher that is targeting the 18-35 demographic should make the games multiplatform in order to maximize sales and profit, so I agree with Pachter core idea about this subject.

I thought the rule of thumb with pachter was to read what he says, ignore it completely, and then pull more accurate numbers out of your ass.
