alright so i am getting a fixed up ps3 phat (80gb no bc) from sony in about a week or whatever it is. the point is

IF there is no BC then copy your data and erase your name etc. etc. and get the slim I guess.

EDIT: the only thing im thinking is these slims havn't been out for nearly as long. What if they end up breaking 10 times as much as a normal or event as much as the 360 did, its just waiting for a year or so of use.

I would get the slim. i have a slim now and in my opinion they are better. deffo when you have custom covers on it to make it shiny

yes sell it and get a slim, I have heard from a couple of people that the fix only lasts for a couple of months for the phat ps3, how ever this is not a proven fact, but still it's up to you, do you really want to risk it??

well yeah it was good of them, they gave me alot less trouble then dell or apple, either way, i always get the free service though lol...you cannot say no to me on the phone, i will spaz out lulz

The way I see it u should sell it and get the slim since u might not want any problems in the future again.

sell it and buy a slim just copy you data(alteast your saved data) and buy a slim! hey you'll get 40gb of extra space.....thought if you keep you old PS3 you can upgrade it's memory beyond Sony's biggest PS3(I think it's 250 gb) one of my PS3 buddies has like a 500 gb hard-drive for his PS3.

As a collector and gamer, i say: Keep it. Then, buy other Slim one.
