Celebrate casue a far superior product is chosen by the people (people aint very bright so when they do good celebrate), so the next products after it have to be good.
IF 360 were to win this gen it would signal that rushing defective hardware to market is ok, that consumers are dumb enough to buy up shoddy hardware all the way to to market domination. Luckly they did not.
Hell even sony learned a lesson, great hardware needs to be priced right. To high a price is a no no for the majority of people.
I love the fact PS3 is beating xbox2, i love the fact Toyota Honda and others sent two carmakers known for crap quality all the way to bankruptcy. I love that Ford got its shit togehter and started making some good products, and did not ask for a Gov handout.

PS3 is the UNDERDOG...lol..after being the dominant console the last 2 generations, and having the Sony brand...are you serious...I think you need to look up what underdog means.

It does matter. Would you be saying what you're saying if the Wii was going down the craper? If SMBWii only sold 4 copies and Nintendo were losing billions? No. You'd want Nintendo to do something about it, because they make the games you like. And when they pulled their asses out of the blender and started making sales again you'd cheer. Because then they would be able to make even more games.
That's the freakin point. If the PS3 didn't turn it around in 2009 and instead went deep south there'd be alot of gamers worried about their favorite franchises.

The PS3 isn't the same thing as the PS1 and PS2..
Also the PS3 launching a year later and at a much higher price... I'd call it an underdog.
Your right Darkshadow. The PS3 is very different than it's predecessors. But that doesn't make it the underdog. It's the technological behemoth that was expected to crush all in it's way but got bogged down in high prices, multiplat development and a runaway success by a quirky and innovative console (by Nintendo, who definitely was the underdog) I'd say a better analogy than underdog would be the titanic.
It was promised to be the ultimate achievement and runaway success, and quickly struck a berg and took on water. Fortunately for Sony, they seem to be in control of their bilge pumps, and the beast is making a tepid, but meaningful resurgence.
