Sure, I think Nintendo should show some more love to some franchises that they have kind of mistreated lately, but less Mario? Hell no, we've gotten the awesome game of Super Mario Galaxy, and on top of that we're getting not only a direct sequel to it, but we also got New Super Mario Bros. Wii which is a pretty much perfect fusion of Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World... with multiplayer. It's fantastic.

Indeed. Two amazing Mario games which are probably the best in 15 years. If anything, they should make more. And they need to make a true sequel to Paper Mario (Super Paper Mario wasn't) and a new Mario Golf/Tennis. Mario has a lot more ground to cover on the Wii. The Wii might just be the best system for Mario ever since the NES.
All the games are pretty different from each other, and a pretty much awesome game for it genre. How can i be bored?
But i miss some Starfox love

I am not saying that I hate Mario at all and more Mario is fine later in the gen but we don't have a single game (Not counting remakes) from:
StarFox
Kirby
F-Zero
Pikmin
Yoshi
Zelda(Unless you count Twilight Princess or Links Crossbow Training)
I see that everyone loves Mario and I understand that it is Nintendo's mascot and that it sells MILLIONS but you also have to understand that for people like me who like other games from Nintendo more than Mario such as the ones who have yet to appear on the Wii it can start to get VERY annoying. Also yes all of the Mario games are different but they still count as Mario just like I count Kirby Airride as Kirby.
*Sound Of Rain said: Am I the only one who thinks that Nintendo has had to much Mario on the Wii? Mario is a great franchise overall but come on its kind of starting to get annoying. The 64 had 9 Mario games in America The G.C had 12 Mario games in America The Wii has 10 Mario games in America so far with 11 counting S.M.G.2 Sony,Microsoft, and Nintendo all said that this gen will be longer than in the past 2 gens. I am not saying that no more Mario games should be on Wii I am just saying no more in a while. If they do than I hope for Luigi's Mansion 2 because that doesn't have the same gameplay as the other platform Mario games. The only reason that Nintendo has less on Wii is because they don't make Mario Party every year anymore. Don't hate me because of this but I am just saying that it would be nice to have had these before more Mario: Pikmin Kirby Starfox F-Zero Luigi's Mansion Donkey Kong adventure Yoshi Wii Its like Nintendo only has Mario and the Wii Named games now. Metroid is also oddly popular with Nintendo this gen. Even Zelda only has 1 game that was ment to be only for G.C when it was announced. So please no more Mario for awhile! |
So far all the mario games have been QUALITY titles so I am ok with the number of them
PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.
Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Mario, Mario, where for art thou Mario?
Nintendo actually appears to have been much more restrained this generation.
No sequels to Party.
No Golf
Only an NPC
Plus, not only were the Olympics games Sega games, but Super Paper Mario was originally supposed to be a GC game.
And if this generation is going to be LLLLOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG, it has franchise in its back pocket unused ready to bring forward -- like Star Fox and the always listed but never releasing Kirby.

I am Mario. I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |
