Ahhhh only for the US.
OK then, congrats Nintendo, this was already predictable :)

Someone asked how much of the software was not by Nintendo. Total software sold on Wii, Worldwide - 436.09 million Total software by Nintendo, on Wii, Worldwide - 237.44 Total software on Wii, not by Nintendo, worldwide, is thus 198.65 million.
If you compare that to the X360's worldwide 3rd party sales, those are roughly 275 million. On the Ps3, it's roughly 160 million. |
Wii games sell at a cheaper price, but hey also are cheaper to produce...so I'm not sure on the profit margin, but it would seem to be a wash...overall...the 360 is still a console that 3rd party developer can't afford to ignore...

I'm going to make the easy assumption that you didn't read through the thread at all. What you posted has not only been addressed, but it's also simply not correct. |
Actually he's just sharing his viral message =D brainwash or paycheck?
I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Well, if "Nintendo-like sales" are the standard, then only Halo/COD sell on 360, and nothing sells on PS3. ;)

Wii has 5 non-nintendo 3 mil+ sellers ps3 6 and 360 9
i think if my maths is correct 9>6>5 360>PS3>WII

3m isn't Nintendo-like. That's more Sony-like. ;)
Nintendo-like is 7m+. Which means...
Wii: 10 (3rd party: 1)
360: 4 (3rd party: 3)
PS3: 0 (3rd party: lol)

3m is an arbitrary figure. Why not do 1m? Oh right, because 43+ 3rd party Wii games have sold more than that. ;)
My point still stands though. If Wii 3rd party games should be compared to Nintendo's top sellers, then everyone's 3rd party games should be. And Nintendo considers around 3m a "flop" for their top tier releases (hello there Wii Music). I was being generous at 7m though, it should really be 10m.

Great argument. Lets just completely ignore the type of games and investment of said games that 3rd parties release on the Wii compared to the 360. Then we can compare the sales of huge blockbusters, that have $30+ million in development and another $30+ million in advertisement, to games that are borderline shovelware with no advertisement. Quite frankley, it's amazing that Wii has sold any 3rd party software at all considering the shoddy product that 3rd parties release on the Wii. One only needs to look at Nintendo to see that Wii moves a ton of software when it's quality and marketed properly.
It's not that the Wii doesn't sell software well, it's that 3rd party companies don't sell software well.

fixed.
If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
