Forums - Microsoft Discussion - MW2 DLC : exclusive to the Xbox360 for ... 1 month !

Well, I'm already craving for a map pack and I would be pissed to wait another month while other can play it.... but I won't.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

It better not be a highrise kind of map.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

I don't see how that's wrong. MS just tries to give a perception of value to its customers, and they will certainly do so to some extent.

@starcraft... Don't be so innocent. Of course they paid in one way or another, we don't know if it's cash straight away, but you can be sure they at least did agree on something that Activision expects to translate into money.

So it's wrong to call it exclusive, or even timed exclusive with just one month of difference.

IT is just coming earlier for the x360.

Mate I have I 360 with more games than I have for the PS3,almost 2 to 1 actually. I just really dislike the way Microsoft carry themselves within the industry. It seem's to me that microsoft  are actually detrimental to the industry because they will pay money at the cost of other gamers enjoyment (PS3 owners) when in comes to DLC. I really dislike DLC (and microsoft) in the way that the average gamer is taken to the cleaners because of some exclusive agreement or some kind of corporate bullshit. I know, 'hate the game not the player', but since microsoft entered the game, only money talks!

Maybe soon publishers will realise that money and profit is made from the quality of game, no matter the platform...

it's called competition/business...stop acting emotional...

on topic I find one month pointless, either they should have made it longer or nothing at all...

lol...look at the fanboys go.

1 month? Is that it?
What's the point. Between the pre-order dlc's, to content that is "unlocked" on the disc and 1 platform getting DLC for a game that's out on both to timed exclusivity (how is it exclusive if it's announced for both platforms?) DLC is becoming nothing more than a way to rip-off the customers.
Wouldn't bother me if everyone who buys a game has the chance to buy all the DLC out there at the same time and pay a reasonable price for it.

They bought the exclusive rights to advertise it like they did.... and it worked out. Well done MS.

How exactly did it work out? In terms of raw sales and ratios, the PS3 version of Modern Warfare 2 is closer to the Xbox 360 version than was the case with COD4: MW. The ratio for COD4: MW was 1.63:1 in favour of the 360. For MW2, the ratio is 1.42:1. In America/Others, the attach rate is practically the same between the 2 consoles for the game (as in, tie ratio, not total sales).

If anything, I think this shows that most of this pseudo-exclusive stuff doesn't actually work. Both sides (Sony and MS) should just give up with it, because it clearly doesn't work (most of the time).

This is why I dislike Microsoft IMHO they seem to buy their way into the industry. No doubt there is money involved here, each move Microsoft  strengthens my resolve my to Sony.

I may be mistaken but this is exactly what Sony did to get into the industry when facing Nintendo. History repeats itself once again. Do some research on Sony's past before making comments about Microsoft.

Most worthless waste of cash ever seen.

not really, think of all those consumers that have both a ps3 and a 360 and bought MW2 for both systems and now are forced to choose between buying the new maps for their 360 or ps3.   this is a major deciding factor for that segment of the community.
