Why didn't sony include trophies from the start? Was it because people demanded it?

Thats pretty much it, Sony does what the people ask them to. I'm suprised they managed to get them out so quickly, and with so little problems.

It is also why they still don't function smoothly, syncing for instance. It wasn't an integral part of what Sony intended initially and as such is a bolt-on to the PSN system.

I still don't understand why they haven't fixed this. I mean, it would be so simple for the PS3 to send of a unique code corresponding to that trophy to the servers. I mean, I don't see how that would effect anything more than the feed that updates what players are currently doing. Hell, it already automatically syncs with the Facebook service...
