Ok so this is still listed as a rumour, but I have got semi-confirmation that this article is indeed correct from someone with insight into Sony.
What do you make of the name "Arc"?

I think Sony are at a stage where, no matter what they call it, it's gonna sound stupid.
PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

They should just call it the Sony wand.
That is what everyone is already calling it. The name arc or gem will just seem confusing to people.
The "Arc Wand" has a nice ring to it!

I'm sure that when the Arc is the official name, people will start calling it that and forget about wand or gem.
