Forums - Nintendo Discussion - How much will Zelda Wii sell?

3.5 ~ 5.5 m

Around the Network

I expect the minimum it can hit will be 7 million, but it could go as high as 10 million. A large installed base, hype with it being a new form of Zelda, a possible Christmas launch and a large advertising campaign from Nintendo could help it on the way to 10 million.

It largely depends on the marketing backing Nintendo gives this game. The wider market needs to be aware something BIG is coming to Wii-core gamers will buy this in their droves, especially if it moves the series forward and has a hype machine behind it, but Nintendo will need their expanded audience behind this to make it the biggest Zelda yet.

8million

6-7 million if it's a good Zelda. 8-10 million if it's the best Zelda ever.

I wish it will lunch on 18th November my birthday and my prediction is 6 to 8.

Im gonna say 800k opening 6.5 mil in total.

Depends on whether it's a bridge game. If it isn't I'd imagine somewhere between 5.5 and 8 million, but if it is I can see it going as high as 15 million.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

Knowing basically nothing about the game at this point, it's difficult to tell. Somewhere between 1M-10M is a safe bet, but there's a lot of wiggle room in there.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Less than Twilight Princess, if the game becomes similar to the previous ones (that's why Aonuma states he wants to change gameplay). If not, I think it won't reach 8 million copies.

Zelda is Zelda.

I would be nice to end up over the 12M bar...

I even can see this game as a reason to the "hardcore" crowd to jump in the Wii through 2011 and 2012.

I predict great legs for this because there will be no game like it anywhere else and it will take too long for PS3 to get a game like this for the dildo... if it gets.
