Forums - Gaming Discussion - IGN Top 25 Games 2009: Xbox 360 vs PS3

Seems that ranking is based more on sales than on quality of the titles.
How else you explain that Borderlands didn't make the PS3 list ?

I mean seriously, Borderlands is way better than MW2 on 360 but the PS3 MW2 is a tonn better than Borderlands ??

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

you can't go wrong with either console, they have the best libraries of games out there. I just chose to buy a 360 because it was cheaper, i could had gone the other way, but i didn't.

ITs missing one game on the 360 list..."The shadow remains cast!"

I must say I prefer the top 25 Xbox 360 games list. It seems more accurate and the lack of CoD4 in the PS3 one is just nonsense.

Thanks for that comparaison btw.

the lists really dont make sense when put side by side tbh

Borderlands is rather so-so anyway and it souldn't be on either list.

ps3 is the best in exclusive for me. 360 had pretty game too

Pretty much matches what I think overall...the first couple years the PS3 didn't have much, but ever since MGS4 it has had the better lineup.

Just my opinion of course.

The comparison is a bit unfair since they put both Uncharted games in there for PS3, but only one of each L4D and Gears of War.

It's also a scandal that Fable II is missing for the X360.

With these adjustments the quality would be very close.

Anyway, after this year the X360 could become the king of the game libraries again by adding
Halo: Reach, Mass Effect 2, Fable III, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Conviction, Metro 2033, Crackdown 2 and Kingdom Under Fire II.
