The user-submitted reviews for Just Dance are actually quite favorable.

Even then...

Would you rather Ubisoft give you Just Dance 2, or would you rather Ubisoft give you Assassin's Creed 2?

How about a new Assassin's Creed that used the Wiimote instead of shoehorning the controls, which is what converting that game to the Wii would do.

And considering the Wii party game sequel sales, it's likely Just Dance 2 isn't coming either.

Honestly, do JRPG makers even realize how hard it is to save the world? That shit is impossible!

Well that's my point. You would rather have an Assassin's Creed game than some random Dance game.

With these sales though, you really think Ubisoft should be thinking about making an exclusive blockbuster for Wii, when they can put a small effort into making some dance game, and probably make just as much profit... If not more?

Why is it likely? How many "Imagine" titles have Ubisoft made? "Petz" games? "Rabbids" games? It's very likely we will see another Just Dance game.

Exactly, that game really resonates with the expanded audience on the WII.

No they have no right to complain, but Nintendo and their fans also have no right to complain when 3rd party developers stop developing games on the Wii.

While the average VGChartz user will take the time to learn about a game before they buy it, the majority just head to the closest best buy or gamestop and find a game with a pretty cover. Unfortunately the Wii wall is full of so much crap it is difficult seperating the quality from the crap.

I do think Nintendo should take the majority of the blame, but they don't care because their console and 1st party games are selling (not because they put effort in advertising them, but because they have a recognizable name).

I have decided that Nintendo can make every single mistake in the book and get away with it just because they are Nintendo and that is sad.

This is only my opinion.

Its recently come to my attention that after 3 years of Wii and "tests" games, there still hasnt been a AAA title from a 3rd party released (MH3 might be it, but thats still some time away). So while there have been some very solid B titles like Madworld and Silent Hill, as well as some suprise hits like Zack and Wiki and Little King's Story (suprise, hence no/little/poor advertising), there have been no large calibur games.

So when 3rd parties complain that their game didnt reach a great number on the sales chart,  maybe its because that game didnt reach a great number on the Metacritic chart either.

This is just a thought, and no research went into this thread. And yes, the quality=sales theory isnt quite that black and white on Wii (or any console for that matter), but a quality AAA game with a solid marketing campaign has yet to be even tried on Wii.

As it was said by most and you confirmed in your post, the third parties didn't put forth much effort except for Monster Hunter 3 and those few games where they did show effort (Muramasa/Little King Story/Madworld) they didn't advertise the game.  There's nothing to say further than that and its clear evidence that they haveno reason to complain when they didn't put forth the effort.  Especially when they still are making tons of money on Wii games.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

A sequel to a garbage game.... or a dancing game... I'm just not sure...

That sequel to a garbage game has sold over 6 Million copies so far, and is in the run for plenty of GotY awards.

They can make both. Such a false dichotomy is part of what is losing developers respect.

And the imagine games and Rabbids games are dropping in sales with the successive games, so sequels are no longer a safe bet in the expanded market.

Still, it doesn't change the fact that Assassin's Creed is a terrible example of saying 'look what you could have'.

A hell of a lot of gamers were put off by the repetitive nonsense of the first....

I for one never finished the first, and have no motivation to pick up the second, and I know I'm not alone there.
