Discussing negative outcome for Sony != wanting negative outcome for Sony. Now, me personally, I have no problem with Sony leaving the industry, but I'm sure others here would have a problem, but can still see and talk about the fact that Sony have had massive losses, and rationally see that Sony are highly likely to continue to be unprofitable from this data.

just like how it's dissapointing for sony to only sell as much as x360 in america right, lol, it actually outsold x360 worldwide, it think that is a very clear sign if you ask me, plus it has never come anywhere near x360 sales in america before(as far as i know, not been here that long lol), so yes it is impressive.

I know Wii is dominating right now, but Sony is on a roll, and Micrsoft should be very worried right now, especially seen as it actually sold less than the PSP for two weeks in a row (worldwide)

Finally betamax was a flop, and we all know that, but blu-ray is doing very well unlike HD-DVD

I was just pointing out how some users feel about these kinds of threads, how would you like it if we posted about Wii being doomed due to less sales this year(yes very laughable)

It was not a jab at everyone, but from reading the comments made, I do get the feeling of some Sony hate going on in here.

Finally Sony have made losses, no doubt about that, but they will make a comeback, I beleive they will at least.

Be interesting to see Sony's financial reports in a few weeks time. It ain't looking too good right now.

There are loads of those threads. It's the dominant view that Wii is now in decline, and it's a reasonable enough position to have. When I disagree with it, I'm not objecting to people having a negative outlook on Wii, I just disagree with it and give my own reasoning.

The same cannot be said bout bluray. HDDVD did the exact same thing for half the price.

Sony paid warner and fox over 500 million dollars and that is why bluray won.

Sony has lost 5-6 billion on the ps3.

The ps3 has wasted more money than any console in the history of gaming

Even worldwide, as a shareholer of sony, the ps3 has been a complete disaster.

Last place, going from 70% market share to 23% and losing all the ps2 profit and most of the ps1 profit in only 3 years.

Remember how the ps3 was supposed to dominate???

1.beta max failed to catch on with the public but it was superior to vhs in every way - hence flop ( i know it was superior )

2. blu-ray is already being adapted faster than dvd was when it was first launched, i did not know about any deals and HD-DVD had there own deals as well, you do remember that right (they both had studios that was exclusive), but the ps3 had the blu-ray drive inside it, that is where the battle was won, if the x360 had HD-DVD in it, then you may have seen a different outcome.

3. yes sony has spent a whole load of $$ on the ps3, but the same can be said about the xbox, i think MS are still trying to make back all the money that was gobbled up on that one, so yes I agree with you on that one, but it shall pay off just watch.
