Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 2 more third party wii games fail with sales?

The reviews show that FF just was not a good game, and it was short. Spin-offs are always more likely to sell less than their source material anyways, and this is a spin-off of a spin-off that completely skipped the benefits of a holiday release.

Silent Hill is only 5 or 6 hours in length, and not many people want to play full price for that. Plus, how do we know it won't do better when it releases in Others? I'm not saying it will, but you need to see the total sales before calling it a bomb. Relative to the last SH game, it is dong on par with it, so things cannot be that bad.

Besides, neither game has been out for more than two months, so calling them failures is premature.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

DO SOME GOSH DARNED RESEARCH BEFORE YOU TROLL

http://www.vgchartz.com/games/index.php?&results=50&name=silent%20hill&console=&keyword=&publisher=&genre=&order=Sales&boxart=Both&showdeleted=&region=All&alphasort=

The best selling Silent Hill ever is on 0.34 million, Shattered Memories is currently on 0.11 without even being released in others and only being out in Americas for 5 weeks

I don't think you can say the best selling SH only sold 340k when the data is missing such large chunks, basically all you have is the first SH and the latest while missing all of the middle ones.  And the original SH only has Japan data so that one isn't even as low as the 300k it appears to be.

Fair response, but it doesnt change some fairly significant facts. Silent Hill Homecoming (360) is the highest selling SH in America that VGChartz tracked, and Silent Hill:SM looks like it will outsell it.

It's hardly conclusive proof that it will be the best selling SH ever, but it is clearly far from a dissapointment

Are you really putting stock on reviewers when it comes to the Wii these days?

Didn't the FF:CC on Gamecube sell 1 million +? I'm not sure how it reviewed either but it definitely wasn't accessible to most people, unless you had 4 GBA's with 4 link cables lol.

FF:CC on Wii had every reason to flop though, the game was put out to die. Still, it's another high-profile game which has been a proven seller in the past, which has miraculously bombed on the Wii. Fairly or not, people will look at those sales and draw negative conclusions towards Wii game selling credentials. I think the biggest negative for FFCC:TCB's sales is that it's most likely put SE off putting any RPG's on the Wii.

Also the Silent Hill's on PS1 exceed 2 million ( at least Silent Hill 2 did), people need to stop quoting VGC figures as if they're worldwide lol. The series is on a downward spiral, and the Wii sales are comparable to the PS360 version though (Which bombed too). It'll probably settle at around 300k-400k, which means it's just another Wii game that probably broke even, but isn't of particually impressive sales.

Go ahead and buy it thinking it's not below average if you like.  Tell me how that works out for you.

Don't present your opinion as though others should share it. I bought the game based on good impressions. The game is above average for me. No great, but above average, so get your opinion myopia out of here.

I can't wait for NMH to release on 360 and PS3, it'll finally put these stupid arguments to bed one way or another.

I can do that, if you stop BSing about reviewers at every oppurtunity.  There are always fans of games that say it deserves higher reviews, if reviewers listened to general opinion every Wii game would be in the 7-9 range and then people would complain about inflation.

Had to deal with the same crap from Tales fans back in the day, quite annoying.

Eww, not at all, but VGC gave it 6.8, and I trust this site.

That's not why I'm mistrusting reviewers. When they get wined and dined for good reviews, and half their Wii reviews have factual inaccuracies (just some more than others), their credibility is shot. Not for the Wii, but for any game.

And you declaring I'm supposed to find the game below average is just as bad as what you hated form the Tales fans (good series, but not a spectacular one).
