Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 2 more third party wii games fail with sales?

The most successful Silent Hill ever has only sold around 300k.

That's not true, Silent Hill 2 sold well over a million.

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Comparing SH on Wii to SH on the 360, I don't see how people can say it bombed unless they also say it bombed on the 360 and PS3 too.

FF is a bit of disappointment (really short for a FF game) and hard to locate and came at a bad time of year especially when no stock in stores.

It's a little early for both games to say for certain, but I seriously doubt that SH for the wii will be considered a flop when it's all said and done.

Last silent hill games (from 4 to Homecoming) were shitty

SH is a trilogy and it should have stayed one. This episode is a niche one aimed to real cores who finished the 1st one on PS. It will be mine

I think I need some more weeks of data before I pull the "bomb card". I want to see how both titles perform in Europe as well.

It's the nature. World at War was called a flop before 2008 was out. No More Heroes was declared a flop from the admittedly dismal Japan launch party. Dead Rising CTYD was called a flop from the first day Japan sales. Even though that game didn't sell as much as Capcom wanted, they said it sold well anyway.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

For the case of Silent Hill there was a fantastic ZERO adverstising for it and restricted shipments.

Konami sent it out to die.

For FF, i guess it was overshadowed by FFXIII, the true installment of the series.

True, tho FFCB has theoretically only been available for 2 weeks. Silent Hill got no advertising, its a great game.

The best selling Silent Hill ever is on 0.34 million, Shattered Memories is currently on 0.11 without even being released in others and only being out in Americas for 5 weeks

Scottie, that's not entirely accurate.

I don't think you can say the best selling SH only sold 340k when the data is missing such large chunks, basically all you have is the first SH and the latest while missing all of the middle ones.  And the original SH only has Japan data so that one isn't even as low as the 300k it appears to be.
