No, but that's because I seem to skip every other iteration of Nintendo's handhelds. I got a Game Boy, but not the Pocket. I got Game Boy Color and Advance, but not the SP or Micro. I got a DS, but not the DSL, and I got a DSi, so it stands to reason that I'll skip the DSiXL. (That, and I'm happy with my DSi.)

This is practically the exact series I have followed when buying the Nintendo Handhelds.  Right up to the current generation with buying the original DS and skipping the DS Lite.  And I was all set up to buying the DSi when it came out as well, fully expecting it to be the final version before their next incarnation, much like the Game Boy Color and GBA SP.  Thankfully however, finances kept me from buying it immediately and the DSi XL was announced.  The double screen enhancement is worth a new model in my opinion, though I realize it must suck for those who already bought a DSi.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

I'm not sure when I'm picking one up yet, but I'll definitely be getting one. I look forward to XL's larger size. It will allow me to play my DS games without my hands cramping up on me.

What this man said. I have ridiculously large hands. My only concern has been whether or not there will be enough extra handspace for me to justify the purchase. Based on those pictures I am probably going to be satisfied.

no im happy with my DSi

Not day one but before a pricecut ( like that will happen the first 6 months..not)

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

I already have one. I bought a Wine Red DSi LL (XL) on launch day in Japan (as I am in Japan ;-p )

@Gnizmo: The bigger size is much easier on the hands. After using my DS Lite for awhile my hands would start to cramp up a bit, but I've had no problems on the larger LL (XL).

Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

It's not a day 1 for me, but I'll probably buy one later to get access to DSiWare. I usually use my DS at home so a bigger screen would be great.

I'd prefer to keep my original DS running for as long as it can. I want my Slot-2.

When I can no longer nurse that along, I might go for the XL, but I don't expect this to happen for quite some time.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Excellent. How is in on battery life compared to the DSlite though? I am hoping that the minimum settings will get me at least equal time to play, but I know the DSi did not last as long.

Also, is the spacing on the buttons better? I didn't have any issues normally with my thumb, but I would like a bit of extra space in there. I am guessing they kept it the same since it isn't "freakishly large hand" edition, but hey one can hope right?

I'm thinking about picking one up for my mom for her birthday or Mother's Day (if it comes out in the US by then.) She's still playing Dr. Mario on my old Game Boy Color, so it would probably benefit her eye sight to play it on a bigger and brighter screen. There's also a couple of other DSiWare games she'd enjoy.

nope, I am nowhere near retirement and my eyes are just fine thanks.....

I envy you people with your normal sized hands sometimes. Small devices fit comfortably in your hands. In contrast, I can palm a basketball. That is hold it with one hand, palm down. Bad eyes are just one reason for wanting the bigger model!
