What's with the votes for Other shooting up but no posts to specify for what? Have we got some stealth posters here!

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Deus Ex is the best out of the list but Invisible War is much better IMO. System Shock 2 in 2nd place that game is amazing!

Just wait a few weeks for Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect is a TPS RPG, not an FPS RPG.

I generally regard FPS as just a shooter, and not distinguish that much between FPS and TPS

Huh? There is a colossal difference between first-person and third-person shooters.

Some people think that Fallout 3 is an FPS/RPG hybrid just because it has a first-person view and guns, when it clearly isn't. They don't know what a FPS/RPG hybrid is like.

Deus Ex all the way. Well, with System Shock 2 right behind it, with STALKER riding it's coattails.

Borderlands is fun but nowhere near that level.

Fallout 3 is also very good, and perhaps it's because it was too sandbox, but it just didn't manage anything like the central narrative Deus Ex or System Shock 2 had.

I suppose Bioshock was okay too, but for me it was way to light on the RPG and was basically an attempt to keep the feel of System Shock 2 but make it way more accessible and FPS orientated. They did a pretty decent job, but I felt it lost just a little too much from the RPG side.

Bioshock is a straight FPS with some customization, not a hybrid.

As for Fallout 3, it's not a hybrid because the shooter mechanics are almost unexistant. There is pretty much no twitch gameplay, and reflexes/hand-eye coordination are not needed. Headshots will not do more damage, and the AI is so pitiful that they're like sitting ducks.

Yah, I guess that's what I was trying to say.  I wish there were more full on FPS/RPG hybrids as I actually really like them, but they always seem to end up more praised that bought, which I guess gives developers pause.

To be fair, there have been almost no real hybrids. The only hybrid I can think of that was a flop was Deus Ex: Invisible Wars.

This year we will have Stalker: Call of Prypriat and Deus Ex 3, so it's not that bad.

To be fair, that was because Invisible War became less of a hybrid and more of an action game. Annoyed a lot of fans.

If you read what Deus Ex 3 is expected to be you will beocme livid and want to murder people. It is saddening how much Deus ex has fallen because of consolification.

Exactly, Fallout 3 didn't really control anything like a first-person shooter. A lot of people are getting FPS/RPG hybrid confused with first-person action RPG.

No there really isn't. TPS is FPS for pussies. That's about the only difference.

I already have. I've put the rage to the back of my mind and am waiting until the game is released. I hope they manage to implement eveything well-enough that it doesn't completely suck... but there isn't much hope of that.

I think there's no point in waiting:

-Regenerating health

- "multi kill (kill 3-4 enemies in a row)"

Enough said.
