Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Bitterness in the Wii fandom?

Wii fans remind me of guys with ugly girlfriends who try to defend her by saying "Hey she's got a nice personality and she's got tits too!" like how they defend their console by saying "Yeah we got hardcore games like Mario, Pikmin, COoking Mama".

LOL

Sounds like a stupid comment from a PS3 owner.

Every PS360 game that has sold less than MH3 in Japan is a flop confirmed!

Oh wait, that's all but one of them...

Reading comprehension failure. Read again.

LOL Banned.

MH3 sold very well in Japan. I'm really looking forward this title.

You know, there's more AAA games on the HD Twins, ok. But I love my Wii although there's missing great games. Yes, all the big hits are just coming from Nintendo. But I don't care. I'm getting two 3D Mario and a 2D Mario, which never happened since the creation of 3D Mario on the N64. 2 Zelda, as usual, 2 Metroid, as usual, Punch-Out! (SNES), Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart... There's a lot of great stuff out there for diehard Nintendo lovers!

P.S. You know, I was expecting a lot from Uncharted 2. I was watching a movie, not playing a game. Redundant.

The graphics are excellent, but not outstanding like critics said. Many bugs.

Am I the only one that never know in a HD game where to go? There's too much details, so I can't guide myself to the end... :(

My judgement is not biased. It's just that Playstation games will never satisfy my hunger as Wii games did.

Oh... I have to play Metroid Prime 3... I forgot it!

I own more games on the Wii than on the N64.

Wow, that's a lot of replies, I expected a yes or no answer.

And for the record, I'm not blaming the Wii fandom, if you say you have the right to be angry it's ok with me, I was just curious if I'm right about it being a general trend, and not just 1-2 extremists.

Apparently, the answer is a 43 page long yeeeeeeeeeees.

It's like one of those a-hole parents that puts a kid down, and there is no reason for it. When asked they give reasons that don't make sense, are often inconsistent, or even their own fault, not the child.

It's not as bad as an abusive parent, but it isn't good in the least.

What big, core third party titles?  Resident Evil 4?  Monster Hunter 3?  Call of Duty?

What big, core third party title performed so poorly?  I can't seem to recall one.  I know quite a few low budget, niche third party games which underperformed according to this forum, but I'm not sure what games you are talking about.

Madworld, House of the Dead, and The Conduit.

Oh wait, the games' publisher disagrees on 2/3 of those.

The Conduit, Dead Space: Extraction, and Darkside Chronicles.

I wouldn't exactly call those big, but eh, who wants to argue semantics.

I...I thought my sarcasm was obvious.

Well, shit.  I thought it was a weird response coming from you.

Ok take a step back and look at the movie industry.
If movie studio followed the strategy you guys are advertising, a movie like Avatar would never have been made...
And that would be a shame...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

"If movie studio followed the strategy you guys are advertising, a movie like Avatar would never have been made..."

Movies are not games. For one thing, they have loads of revenue streams, so they can afford larger budgets. For another, they are passive, so they can tell any kind of story.

Really ?

Who would have bet a 600 million$ movie shot entirely in 3D using state of the art technology would have been that successfull, especially when the huge majority of the showings are in 3D and people have been reluctant to wear glasses in a theater ?

1. Where does it say the majority of showings are in 3D?

2. How does that counter my points?
