They stopped buying those. Did you even pay attention to recent news?

They might have stopped buying those specific games, but they didn't stop buying those type of games.

Top selling Wii games from this weeks top 25 that aren't Nintendo published, and don't feature any Nintendo characters (afaik)...

8. Just Dance
9. MW: Reflex
10. EA Sports Active
11. Your Shape ft. JM
13. LEGO SW
14. Band Hero
15. Deal or no Deal
16. Taiko something
18. NERF NStrike Elite
20. EA Sports Active +
21. Carnival Games Mini Golf
22. Toy Story Mania
24. Random long named Japanese game.
25. Hasbro Family Game Night 2

Did they really stop buying those?

well to be fair u cant have a game on that list if its not made yet so u using that list is just not relevant now is it?

Every game on that list is made... And has been selling for 7+ weeks. Here...

what i was refering too is that u cant have a hardcore fps game on that list if its not made yet, and dont come in with ports or some low budget titles from smaller companies.

All wii owners want is a serious effort from the big corps!!!!

And most of those games i listed are part of the reason why the Wii isn't getting big hardcore FPS games or serious efforts.

and thats backward thinking, those games cant show up on any list it they are not made, and even if they didnt sell like the mario games what reason is there to not make said games to reach the 1 000 000+ gamers that crave that kind of game on said platform?

Because there are evidently more gamers on the other platforms who crave those games.

I never said there were more gamers of that kind on the Wii but there are more then 1 000 000 of those gamers on the wii and that should be enough to warrant atleast one game of that caliber on the system before bitcing that they cant sell their games on the Wii

I didn't say you did, i was just saying...

Anyway, yes... 1 Million at least is enough. But is it worth it? Seriously... From a business point of view? Is it worth making a big blockbuster FPS game, when in comparison you can make a party game for a fraction of the price and get possibly better sales?

You, I and they dont know that unless they try and thats what i am saying, give it atleast 1 serious try and if the game doesnt lack anything and is a serious effort with the advertisement that should go with said effort then we will know but untill then they need to stop bitching about their sales on the Wii and point the finger at only Nintendo games sell, of course Nintendo games sell they have been doing this with serious effort for 30 years now and people now that a game from Nintendo will likely be of best quality possible, even if you dont like their games you still know they are made with the best quality possible meanwhile 3rd parties have during the years collected the opposite reputation on Nintendo consoles.

"Not true.

Quick Example, as its half 5 in the morning... I need to go."

I wrote "in general", not "as an absolute rule". RE4 is another exception, especially since all the features were left in. Not the graphics, but the features.

"So youre argueing about "the games" but refuse to even specify what you want from them, yet feel the need to bitch about them not giving you "the games" you want yet cant even specify what you want? So you dont even know what you want but expect them to produce it."

What part of "about principle" did you not get? If you did, you would know why being specific would be against the point.

So youre argueing for the principle that these companies release products they dont owe you for a system that dont deem as viable to their business plan like its a charity?

This thread is

HD vs Wii

lol

If Wii owners bought more serious games then maybe they would put more games on the System, lets say if CoD flopped on 360 and barely broke a million sold after 4 years you think they would make a sequel and loose more money?

Hell no they would put it on the system it sells best on, just like RTS sell best on PC you cant expect more RTS to come to 360.

"I agree, a lot of people probably owned a 360 with a PS3 and there was obviously no need to rebuy it."

I don't agree, but regardless, you'd better never use the combined HD userbase argument or I will throw this in your face.

Haha what are you talking about? Bioshock was ported in october of 2008, there has been over 14 months of new PS3 owners that may or may not have had a 360.

what would get thrown in my face and do i have some history of claiming something about HD console userbase or something that im not aware of?

1. That's time. The userbase overlap could not possibly account for the lower sales, as even if it was the majority, that's still less people than even the 360 version.

2. That's just in case you decide to later.

"So youre argueing for the principle that these companies release products they dont owe you for a system that dont deem as viable to their business plan like its a charity?"

No, it is viable. I just demand they (and even you) realize that and support the Wii accordingly. Monster Hunter 3 proves those games can work on the Wii, becaujse the game is one of the most graphically intense of the system, which, if all the casual game audience talk was true, should be a flop.

The actual demand for charity is from those demanding developers, third party, Sony, Microsoft, and even Nintendo, make nothing by big, expensive games just to please those people, even though the sales haven't grown enough (Assassins Creed is not the rule for HD game sales). I demand sensibility here.

The last 1st party game I bought was Wii Fit, 90% of my game library is 3rd party, if that gives you an idea on my stand.

@lord and the other "Wiibits"

you are asking the orange tree for apples. the thing is, even if the orange tree were to bear apples for you, they will be something not quite the apples from the apple tree. Right now there's a huge crowd enjoying their oranges, if they were ever to become interested in apples, really REALLY interested in apples, do you think they will settle for the lesser-apples the orange tree would produce for them? No, of course not, they would take a stroll to the apple tree and eat real apples.

No More Heroes is a serious game, and Suda's biggest hit.

Madworld could have been serious, but three to six hours and no replay value just makes it all flash and little substance.

Call of Duty is still selling, despite the breakthrough game of the series coming late and with no hype.

"you are asking the orange tree for apples"

God, it's the same "HD games are special" myth. They aren't special, not when the emphasis is on graphics. Those are just shinier apples.

The portability issue and piracy is why the games aren't working on the PSP, not the specs.

Again, Monster Hunter 3 is a watered down version of what it could have been on the PS3. That obviously didn't matter.

so MONSTER HUNTER 3 sold less than a 1/3 of what it has sold on the PSP. Even more if you check the current japanese charts Monster Hunter PSP is currently outselling Monster Hunter 3 and the reason for that is that the PSP version provides an unique experience that the WII cannot replicate.

So a game 2+ years old is selling more than the latest iteration, as I said before japanese gamers like Monster Hunter on the PSP because it allows them to play together whenever and wherever they want and thats something the console Monster Hunter cannot replicate and is made pathetic by comparison.

So  an unique experience that cannot be replicated by a console = portable game success.

Bad Example WII Fighter.
