And there were actually five of them, but given I didn't ask them if I could make this thread, I figured plastering photos of them and our drunken antics in Vang Vieng all over the web was inappropriate.

Yeah.  Most people go for Singapore and Malaysia.  Some for Vietnam.

These two are a little poorer, and perhaps not quite the massive tourist destinations, but they have an enormous amount of relatively less known natural and man-made treasures.  Westerner's are slowly becoming more aware of them though.

The elephant was amazing. We spent three days with them. Bathing them, feeding them, learning to command them. Definitely worth doing if you ever get a chance.
