You know what? I thought I couldn't level up being a vampire because I went to sleep and then this window poped up telling me the story of me becoming a vampire. But then I realize that I actually could level up so... no sweat. I enjoy my new vampire powers... Actually I think it is imposible to avoid if you want to finish the main quest.

One thing that bugs me is that if I want to feed it is like I have commited a crime, a murder attempt or something, but then that was the way the dark brotherhood contacted me and now I am doing those missions, which are fun...

And also, some people keep yelling me to get lost that I am getting no blood from them, no matter if I use my vampire seduction power. and they won't talk to me... so... Maybe that power is useless...

If I recall, you need to talk to the count of Skingrad if you want to do the quest to get rid of it. The quest itself is annoying and long.

If you had the PC version, it'd probably be easier to spawn in the potion to cure it or just get a mod that makes it for sale at a regular shop :P

It was certainly fun for a while, but I became bored of it and the world of the game just couldn't keep me playing anymore. And since I went through most of the quests on my first file, I don't feel like actually do them all over again on new characters so I'd just utalize the in-game console and did some noclip action.

I was disappointed with the "next-gen" (well, the 360, as it was the only one out at the time), until this game came out and swallowed my life.

This is actually exactly what happened to me. I got in the game all hyped up and everything. Then won the arena right off the bat (strafe+hack works wonders) and I was even more excited, though a bit less than when I started. I got to 2 or 3 towns, did their quests, and it all went downhill from there.

A lot of people hate Oblivion for some crazy reasons but I personally believe it's the best WRPG ever.

Oblivion has a lot of problems that Morrowind doesn't have. The level scaling on everything is terrible. You get no good loot until later in the game and generic bandits start wearing Daedric armor which is supposed to be rare and late game you never feel powerful unless you plan out every little thing. In Morrowind none of that is a problem. Enemies, loot and everything is all masterfully set so you can run into weak enemies in some areas and hard enemies in others and find good gear early, and you have no need to plan out leveling because you will eventually get more powerful than everything.

Basically this.

The Elder Scrolls is yet another franchise ruined by consoles, 3 was amazing, 4 quite the opposite.

This is getting kinda old. Vlad I think you need a new hobby.

Between Deus Ex, UT, Elder Scrolls, and a whole lot of other franchises, it's quite true. Truth hurts sorry. Do you have any evidence to disprove my claim or are you jsut talking here?

You know what? after reading most of your posts and keep playing, I have realized that there's something actually missing in this game.

Cinematics.

Story is crucial in RPG's. Of course there are stories told in Oblivion, but they maybe needed to tell the main story in a more epic way. Fable 2 did it somehow. I guess they did it on purpose (the story is told through the characters) but I miss it anyway.

It was my first PS3 game (Aug 08) and i played it for an entire month constantly. After i got bored i bought COD4 but i still played oblivion periodically after words.

It's why I got the box and still amazing. Third person leg animations look bad though and you have no crosshair for your bow. Fallout 3 you can go TP, move the character left and play over-the-shoulder.

Most complaints are about the levelling. I used to start at + 5 tics on the diff. slider and put it down when I started dying. Plus 10 is a tooth grinding chore. Someone well respected here was just trashing it in an ME2 thread recently. I'm not going to correct the Gaming Gods but most of his problems had obvious solutions. Useless stolen goods? Join Thieve's Guild for some of the best quests in the game, etc. but no content, no story? That's someone four hours in who hates wrpg's, consoles or whatever.

SPOILER CITY. Hit the statues for quest rewards. Namira, Azura, Sanguine and Nocturnal especially. Get Wizard's Tower or join the Mages to build weapons. A black soul gem and any bow with Cold or Shock 12 pts, Weakness to same 48 pts. and Soul Trap with Azura's Star and the game just opens up. Use the stones from the towers on your gear. It's painful but save just after you activate and retry to get what you want. Shield, blade, speed, magica etc on even base gear make a huge difference. With patience the first tower will give a 20 pts shock for Jr's first Katana. A ring or helmet with night-eye is a rogue essential.

I think the people who hated Oblivion never gave it the time or a fair chance. It's not 'insert game here' that you played in your formative years before you became bitter and jaded. Sorry.

I agree with this, I enjoyed the gameplay and the environment more than Dragon Age but I feel more.. I don't know the word, but it keeps you playing so you can uncover more of the story as the game progresses. With Oblivion it is a lot slower and not as much is happening and it doesn't keep me as interested.

With that said I still haven't beaten the game but I have put probably more hours into it than all of my other games combined.

Anyway, I am still playing. I have completed over 120 hours and still going. Not even finish the meain quest or the expansions...
I'ts awesome
