Nintendo lazy? IGN right? HD systems are doing what's supposed to be doing?
No No no

I'm not going to argue we already have enough people doing that. Nintendo comes with many games a year. Nintendo isn't lazy check

IGN comes up with incredbly bad flaw to thei attacks. They are wrong. Check

HD systems just added a coat of paint to last generation hardware. Check.

Let me ask. Who really is the one that is blind huh?

Tag:I'm not bias towards Nintendo. You just think that way (Admin note - it's "biased".  Not "bias")
(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

and the pspgo was a strong efford and was really nice detail from sony?
why no editorials about that?
guitar hero?
imagine series?

People don't realise the effort Nintendo puts in games like NSMBWii, I have serious doubt that online play would improve the game anyway, but where as another developer may have added it as a feature, they would have put much less effort into the core game. No one polishes games as much as Nintendo do. Calling them lazy is so far off the mark it's like calling Ferrari's slow!

nintendo fans have entered denial stage since approx. mid 2007

by that time it had became clear how inferior the console is technically and how little the 3rd party support will be.
I do belong to this very crowd.

Noone will admit it but everyone knows it inside. It's like you would never admit that your favourite sports teams sucks balls. You're always gonna defend it, even if you long ago perceived it's false.

Every Nintendo fan who has been around since let's say the N64 knows it. The decline has been going on steady and slow, with every console decreasing in popularity.

To be honestly, I think the Wii without the gain in casuals would be around 12 millions right now.
For hardcore gamers, the Wii is a decline from and just like its predecessor was from its predecessor.

When people start taking stuff like DeBlob, Punchout or BoomBlox as defense against no-good-games-argument, it's a sign of desperation and moreover, resignation.

Every Core-Nintendofan knows it - the Wii is a huger letdown than every predecessor it had - even the GC.
- Nintendo HAS abandoned the hardcore, some high-quality games like NSMBWii or SMG dont change the picture as a whole.

edit : I am aware that it's the right path for Nintendo itself, though. They only sold their soul in the process.

How can 720p be considered HD when it looks like ugly snow grains on my 22'' screen?

I have all the consoles, my best gaming experiences this gen have come on the Wii no doubt. There are a lot of older gamers like me that are turned off by the endless procession of FPS games, overly complex gameplay and reliance on high end graphics. The Wii has been a very welcome breath of fresh air.

No, the power gap between the Wii and the PS360 was apparent to anyone with a brain as soon as all the specs were out. The exodus of the third parties was unfortunate, but not entirely unexpected - and even so, the Wii still enjoys superior third party support compared to ie. the Gamecube.

I support quite a few sports teams myself, and can honestly say that several of them suck balls.

Only fair-weather fans support their team as long as it's winning and resort to denial of reality when it's not - true fans support their team thru the good times and bad and can openly be honest about the positives and negatives of their favorites.

Er, what?

Do you have a problem with basic mathematics or something? The Wii is the most successful Nintendo home console system since the NES. Hell, it will eventually surpass   already has surpassed the NES.

To be honestly, I think the Wii without the gain in casuals would be around 12 millions right now.

So if Wii hadn't sold to as many people as it did, it would have sold less units?

...

We're really getting into Zen level here, folks.

When people start taking stuff like DeBlob, Punchout or BoomBlox as defense against no-good-games-argument, it's a sign of desperation and moreover, resignation.

So it's desperation and resignation when people actually have the gall to enjoy different games than you, or value them on different metrics than you, Metacritic or Gamerankings?

Oh yeah, I can only see black and white, myself. No shades of gray here, no sirree.

First off, Nintendo isn't a person or a living being, but a corporation. Thus, it cannot have a "soul" or sell one even if they exist.

Second, as was stated before, Nintendo was NEVER an enthusiast-centric company - it has always attempted to make games that everyone could enjoy, for very simple reason: money.

So when I talk about the best 3D platformer I have ever played other than Mario, it is a sign of desperation and resignation?  I guess you learn something everyday.

The Nintendo-haters are trying to narrowly define "revolutionizing gaming" as "revolutionizing 2-D platforming and 2-D action/adventure games and revolutionizing 3rd-person platforming and 3rd-person action/adventure games."

Nintendo never stopped revolutionizing gaming. You guys just stopped liking the revolutions.

Nintendo caters extremely well to the market of people who buy 1-6 games every year and live happy and sensible lives which are not dominated by gaming. Because this market buys so few games they have to make games which everyone will like and enjoy.

Nintendo does not cater to the nutso hardcore gamers who own 3-5 gaming systems, buys 7+ games per year and harps on about this and that and are incredibly fickle and hard to satisfy. These people also trade in games quickly, buy used, and have no loyalty to even a particular system.

The former earn them more money than the latter. So what should they try to cater to the nutso hardcore group when everyone else does as well? Why can't there be one console for people who aren't in that nutso hardcore group when the other two cater to them pretty well?

If Nintendo is lazy, everyone else must be in a fuckin donut induced coma.
