Aaron Greenberg comment on overall sales for 2009

With NPD sales numbers for 2009 has been completely revealed, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has posted a response to the overall hardware sales numbers for 2009. While he has praised the sales performance for all consoles, he wanted to remind gamers and industry experts that the Xbox360 has actually outsold the PS3 in 2009. Here is his full statement on his personal Twitter page:

“Since folks have asked, all systems had a great 2009, but US NPD console HW for 2009 shows Xbox 360 at 4.8M vs 4.3M for PS3.”
 
 

While the PS3 has outsold Xbox360 in December, Nintendo Wii was the best selling console in 2009 followed by the Xbox360 then at third place the PS3.

could we expect anything different

Well, can't sleight the man for tooting his own horn. Will it bethe same this year, though. That is the real question.

It's cute that he is proud the 360 outsold PS3 in the US. Now show him some Japan numbers.

All systems done good?

I saw two systems done good, and one system done godly.

No comment about December sales? Ouch, there no way to spin the PS3 numbers and being the number one because the Wii doesn't count isn't it???

Congrats. Now id like to see him say "well US NPD results for December showed more PS3 sales" haha, continuity!!!!

MS is in a pretty good position, they've dominated software sales and have consistently continued to produce profit on their gaming division. I'm surprised they have to make any public statements at all, I'm more interested in their financial statements.

Hes not going to admit PS3 did better then 360, honestly why bother asking these questions? same goes for the wii, "good?" pfft...
