Us FF have to stick together, hell, FF games get enough hate from fans from other genres, I think it doesn't need hate from FF fans themselves.

Well, to each his own then, but phantasy star portable is an underdog in my experience with the first game on PSP, almost no-one i know both on the net and in real life dont know even what it is.

im sure demons souls is to, but i didn't mention it since i have no opinion on it so i wouldn't know.

Internet hating is when you buy something and play it all the way through just so you can say how bad it is over the internet.

Absolutely true

for all the things like "FF is dead now", "FF is well past its prime" & so on some people say here, its funny how its sales don't show this

MONSTER franchise HAVE gone down in sales  when they were past their prime, e.g. crash bandicoot, tomb raider, NFS, sonic

but why is FF still anticipated so much & held so high & selling really really well? obviously most people still like the games that come out

That's okay then, you may consider it to be so, but I was just giving you a view of how Phantasy Star really is to the whole JRPG market. An underdog is a game that comes out of nowhere from a unknown IP, not from a big name IP.

Some people consider the Crystal Chronicles series from FF to be underdogs as well, but that doesn't make it so, because it sells due to the FF name.

Final Fantasy will continue to sell and will continue to be held in high regard in the JRPG panorama, no matter how many people want to hate it. It has been one of gaming's longest series for some reason right? :D

Yep, and if you look on Jneul's thread, I had said that exact thing about WKC ;)

It's not a question of rules or not, you can't argue against popularity of a series. It's the same thing as calling a Call of Duty game or Halo game, the underdogs in japan. Even if they don't have much popularity over there, that doesn't take out from the fact that they are amongst the most popular games worlwide, thus far from being underdogs. 

Edit - And since this is a Japan only list, then Phantasy Star is too far from being an underdog there xD
