50k for a Resident Evil game would be abysmal. It would be the lowest opening for a Resident Evil game (except remakes).

But it's not even a true RE game, it's a spinoff, and on a new console...wait for RE Revelation for the true judgement about RE games on 3DS, plus these are only our predictions, it could do better than 50k...

There have been other Resident Evil spin-offs and they all did better than 50k still.
Even if it did anything between 50k and 100k, it's not impressive.

The games on Wii and DS didn't do that well. Even RE 5 on X360 performed badlt (78k FW)...I know the 360 is not successful in Japan, but it's base is very active and right now is comparable to the one of 3DS. About 70k seems not bad to me.

The games on the Wii did pretty bad indeed but that's something everybody knew was going to happen.
The Resident Evil userbase in Japan is on the Playstation consoles.
I'm sure Resident Evil 5 would have done far better on the 360 if it were exclusive. But in this case, you can't ignore that it did 320k on the PS3. Multiplatform games can't be compared with exclusives.

Of course, but neither main games should be compared with spinoffs, and as far as I know the RE userbase is not on 3DS, since it's still too small to be defined. This is one of the main reasons why it should push some k, which is way more important than having a bigger game which doesn't push the 3DS as it needs. Anyway just wait for the official launch, this is COMG we're talking about, not final data, it could do 50k as well as 100k, which is not a lot but still the biggest game after Layton for the system.
Buzzi said: The real problem is not the performance of RE, Zelda or Tales of the Abyss, is the lack of any other game in the chart. With only Starfox 64 3D in the summer 3DS can't really have a good performance, it could even fall under DS sales... |
Ok let's not be ridiculous now.

It got to 17k and summer is always the worst time for console sales...do you think Starfox alone would prevent it from falling under 10k? Which is right now the amount of DS sales, they could go for a statistical tie (an abused word there LOL). Of course this is not a likely scenario, I doubt Nintendo would leave their creature with only one of their titles for the summer...just saying that another hole could happen.

Even your hyperbole is just too ridiculous, there is no way in hell the DS is gonna outsell the 3DS on a weekly basis, that just won't happen.

Well according to Comgnet One piece did well and gave other games a boost... wonder how much of that is true
