COMG is a small chain out in Niigata area (pretty much middle of nowhere). Amazon is huge.

I've noticed Western games don't really show up in COMG. Far Cry 3 didn't show up at all if I recall. Yet it still ended up charting pretty well on Media Create. We also saw nothing of games like Gears of War or God of War... And then there was the enormous numbers for SAO that didn't translate at all onto the national sales. There are some really bad skews for a small store like this.

the last one sold about 85K on PSP. so no, not a big series at all.

3 stars is not very mediocre and I don't think you should put that much weight to amazon reviews. They are skewed just like any other user reviews out there. If amazon screwed up an order or the shipping was slow or the item was damaged during transport or something like that it will be reflected in the amazon user review score. Also Rising is a mutliplatform title (not in Japan but still) and the hardcore MGS fans out there may be angry about this. We see that kind of behavior all the time on metacritic or youtube.

Also games like Mugen Souls or Hyperdimension Neptunia are 3.5 stars on amazon which should be enough to make you realize that amazon is bad to gauge a game's quality.

Bayonetta is only 0.5 star more than Rising and Vanquish is 4 stars. It's rather random if you ask me.

Don't look at the average stars, look at the curve. With 459 reviews, that's a lot mind you, the curve is pretty statistically relevant to the average population. You might get a few trolls (and fanboys) giving it meaningless 1 (and 5) star reviews but they are irrelevant in such a large population size. If it were filled with troll reviews it would be clearly lopsided onto 1 star reviews. Here we see a pretty clean curve. I didn't say it was a bad game, I said it was mediocre.

Wow that is an unreal gain for Tomodachi, and not even a weekend. Up on Amazon as well. Wonder what triggered that!

And lol DQX HD dropped away on Amazon already too.
