I actually like SEGA as they have great franchises and my first console was a Sega Megadrive.
Just been annoyed a bit lately with a "certain" bad port they did.
Other than that no complaints here.

I Love Sega they have brought brilliant games to us such as Yazuka, VC, End Of Eternity, Phantasy Star Portable, and oh sonic should be good now that it's going back to it's roots.
It was not Sega's fault they got handed a game coded towards one particular platform, I mean if the code was made to only work better on one specific platform, then really they could not have made Bayonetta any much better without starting all over again...
it's the future of handheld

Sega is just awesome... they're one of very few big game companies that still bring innovation and always try something new. They're not as great as in the DC times and before, but they still launch many great franchises.

Both are great frasnchises, but you made Sonic look like crap (Despite easily 20+ Sonic games been fantastic spanning two decades), you think thats fair? 5 Resident Evils............... 4 of them in the main story are great, 5 just isn't, but i still love Resident Evil non the less. |
The new Sonic from Sonic adventure 2 and onward (on home consoles and PSP) is not the Sonic that we grew up with. There is no need to defend him, he is an entirely different ...thing.
What's left of the true Sonic are the newer 2D games.
This is the Sonic that's worth defending!
Are these worth defending?
I LOVE ICELAND!
The problem is sega makes great games they just can't market them to save their skins. Valkyria is a perfect example, critically acclaimed, dismal sales. Bayonetta another example, critically acclaimed, mediocre sales at best. The main problem is today's market is basically market driven, sega needs to create the demand for their titles like most other companies do.
I also wonder if making games for people who love playign games is the right way to go anymore, most people don't really like playing games, they just want to play a movie and imagine they have the skills to master the 'game.' Time will tell...
Cheerz
bayonetta has good sales (520 000 today) and valkyria is a exclu ps3 and a T Rpg (this kind of game has not very popular in these fps days (shame)
but 810 000 is good even he merit better)
Yeah Sega have had marketing issues in the past. Honestly VC deserves to sell a lot more. A lot more! Come to think of it so does LO.
Problem with Bayonetta is the PS3 version has been univerasally panned as a bad port so hurt it sales, the 360 demographic are not as interested in such games with that kind of eccentric Jpn art direction, it hasn't had much hype outside the fanboy ranting and the demo while good, doesn't really do the game much justice.
its a 360 port to ps3. 95% of 360 port to ps3 are the same probleme.
AC 1, its the same
In the begining, it was a exclusivity for 360 and the ps 3 developement begin later

Valkyria's undoubtedly overtracked here. NPD has ltd US sales at 130k ltd and Enterbrain puts it at 220k ltd in Japan. It's probably around 500k worldwide, which isn't really all that bad either to be honest, considering it was sent to die in the west.
In some exciting Sega news though, it seems After Burner Climax was just confirmed for XBLA!

plus many more. Same gen (none DC): Outrun 2&SP, Panzer Dragoon Orta, JSRF, Yakuza 1&2 |
I hate Sega because they fell from grace, and big time. We get the odd gem from Sega JP, but the soul is nearly dead.
