The honest to goodness truth is that developers probably polish cut content and call it DLC. Just look at how bad the fallout 3 expansions were when they released.

Resistance used a lot of dummy data to cut down on load times....is what he was referring to

That and there is another thing.....compressions.
N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!
Resistance could have been much more polished, but it was still a very well executed game.
Even with just compressing the game it wouldn't fit on a single dvd. 22gb is alot. Even finding ways to shink it down half way, that's still 11gb. Still more than a single dvd can hold. Almost double.

I am not putting down resistance as a quality game.....you just seem to have this one track thought that hard gb are the end all be all.....when clearly they arent in this generation especially with the ps3.
Alot of multiplat games (if not every single one) are bigger in gb on the ps3.....but at least 95% of the time they are equal or are better on the 360.
Even if Square needed more space they could have easily used another disk(like LO) but that wasnt needed.....22 gb is what FF13 really is without dummy data and as such nothing was held back.

Jman is right. If you measure the quality of a game by the hardware you will generally be pretty jaded.
The same could be said for Xbox 360 games that aren't up to scratch because the DVD9 has a higher maximum read speed than the PS3's Blu-Ray.
starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS
I'm also not putting down the 360 (as far as the games that are on it). I also know that gb are not the "be all all end all", but games are measured by size.
Kojima made a big deal about filling a 50gb dual layered Blu-Ray disc with MGS 4. Now obviously every game on the 360 can be done on PS3 and vice versa, but it's much more complicated than just porting things over.
Anyway, the amount of gb's give developers the space to bring their creations life. On another note I grow very tired of this discussion.
I do see where you're perspective is and I respect it. Had we been in person when this debate had started, it would have been much more fun and engaging, but a few days have passed and I want to move on.
