The thing about that though is that you'd have to wipe out all the unlocks and such that you've acquired so you can get all three gold trophies. Since the game wants to promote staying with one PMC, it seems a little insane to spend a lot of time to get to level 60 and have to completely dump that to start another 60 levels under a new faction only to do it again for the third faction. It would be nice that once you level up in one faction, you get another character slot so you can keep your leveled character and can start a new one without having to clear your old character.

Also, does anybody know if you're stats, medals, and ribbons are wiped out if you delete your character?

Uhm, Im gonna go out on a limb and say that it seems very unlikely that Zipper would make it so you only have 1 character slot per PSN Id.  It seems more likely that you get at least 3 to play with and simply pick a faction and different character.  Only having 1 slot would be VERY bad game design.  They probably limited it to 1 slot during the beta, but the way it was set up it looked as though there was room for more.

I would not be down with deleting a 50 hour character just to try something else. 

That's the way it was in the beta so we'll have to wait a few weeks and see unless anyone can find anything to say otherwise. All that room on the character select screen suggests that there would be more.

3 would be perfect because I don't just want to throw out all that playtime. I'd like to be able to start a fresh character and be able to go back to the leveled character from time to time.

Assuming you are only allowed one character per ID....

What about backing up saves...?

Make save A use it, back it up, delete it make save B then switch whenever ready.

If it works for Pro evo 2010 and InFamous I'm sure it'll work here.

That wont work. Mag is a multiplayer only game.

I noticed the extra space for more slots but I chose to think nothing of it.

Here's what I'm hoping now:

One slot at start.
I get to Lvl60 with my first character and the other two slots unlock...

or

one of them unlocks and after that one's maxed, I get the third.

If it doesn't work like this, I might not bother with this platinum. If data is server-sided [and I doubt we can copy saves for this game] then the smartest move would probably be to the other two factions you DO NOT want to be a part of first if you care for the platinum... which would tick me the hell off.

If it doesn't work like this or what gaming_best's post stated, I probably won't bother getting platinum for this game.

one slot people. remember the "choose your loyalties" it would defeat the whole purpose. and as for the gold trophies, like I said before it depends on the faction you choose which trophy you will be abler to get. If you join SVER you will have only their trophy to unlock, not all 3. the same for Valor and Raven.

Apparently you only get 1 character per PSN ID, but can change factions later on in the game, but it will cost you in some way. Not too sure if I like this or not, but I guess it will form some crazy battles.  Also, apparently the "war" you are fighting will be kept track of and things will happen based on your factions performance over time.  Seems interesting
