If anyone needs a gaming PC in the UK, check out this webpage: http://www.npwsolutions.co.uk/

It's from a friend of mine. So much cheaper than "big brands" lol. His builds are better and more than half the price!

http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/amd-top-spec-pc/

These guys can do your £1870 build for £1289. Same with the rest. I've bought from them twice now.

I really don't have time to build a PC at the moment, so I just order it through Cyberpower. This is my final build I am definitely excited to get this PC. There was a few things I wanted but I am waiting for them to come down in price,  I got a free upgrade to the 6870 so that was a huge plus for me. I was going to get a 300GB Velociraptor 10000rpm HDD, but at the price and the difference between then 7200rpm 64 cache just isn't big enough.

Also I wanted to SLI my video cards. I think I'll waiting till they come down a bit more, overall I am happy with this build. Finally, I will eventually upgrade the radiator and PSU as I do not trust this brand, but should be good for a 2 or 3 years.

FYI, this case looks and cools amazingly.

What did you want this thing to do, control all the satellites that are orbitting the earth?

Personally I think its a little much for a gaming PC,  you could probably cut some things out and save yourself a good amount of money.  Unless this is for other things like graphic design and such.

If its just for Gaming you could cut out the cooling system and 4 GB of RAM.  And Maybe go with just a Quad Core CPU instead of a 6 core,  then giving you something to upgrade to later on when it starts to become obsolete.  Plus the components that will release in a couple years will be much better than the ones out now, giving your computer much more life.

Also, The price listed at the end, what currency is that in?

It's in US dollars, I got a hell of a deal on this and yes I do alot of graphics design with Cinema 4D and Adobe as well develop websites using flash and action scripting, so the RAM and 6 Core are imperative.

8GB is pretty standard now, I'm finding 4GB to be restrictive for some power applications.

A 4 core sandybridge Processor will give you a little more power then a 6 core AMD depending on how well Adobe uses the cores in it's future products ( Bear in mind you can push a i7 2600K to 4.8Ghz on good air cooling alone - on the other hand a Intel mb/cpu  will cost a bit more)

 http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/desktop-cpu-charts-2010/compare,2426.html?prod[4786]=on&prod[4757]=on

Water cooling is a bit OTT unless your planning on doing some serious overclocking.

The MB seems to support USB 3 but it seems to be only offering USB 2 ports which is very strange.

How ever all that aside -  it's a nicely spec'ed PC with a great gaming mouse.

I had the same problem - so I bought this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002G392ZI/ref=oss_product

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 CPU Cooler

It was a bit of squeeze to install as it touches my Motherboards heatsink as it's pretty big, but my CPU has gone from running at 93c down to 58c on full load and is almost silent compared to the turbo jet engine it was before.

It's good idea is to keep your Heat sink dust free by cleaning your system with compressed air every few weeks, also make sure your case has plenty of ventilation.

Thanks for the critque bud, I received a Powercolor 6870 and AmpX memory which I am extremely impressed with. I did however read some bad reviews on the Xtremegear product line and will be getting a corsair 120mm LC and 750w corsair PS in the near future. Overall the game has been able to run absolutely everything I have thrown at it including: Arkham Asylum, Dead Space, Just Cause 2, The Witcher, Darksiders, Bad Company 2, and Crysis/Crysis Warhead on maxed out settings getting well over 60 fps. I have also been able to run several adobe apps while transferring between Cinema 4d and Lightwave which was never even close to possible on my laptop. I have only OC'd the proc to 3.6 and the GPU to just over 1200mhz and never reach a temp above 65C.

So I would definitely have to recommend this build to everyone.

My brother was thinking of upgrading his PC, but is it really time?

His Old one :

Q6600 cpu

4GB Ram

8800GTX

The new one - http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=945125

Thats the basic specs he is thinking of, but we might build it ourselves as no companies do onsite warranties anymore and it's much cheaper, however I don't like overclocking anyone elses PC ( bad memories from back in the pentium 1 days), so it's tempting to let these guys do it as money isn't really a major issue for my brother.

The build will be apx. 3 times faster for every major component then what he has at the moment, he also uses it for work ( Visual studio mainly) so it's worth investing money now to improve productivity.

In 6 months the Ivy bridge processers will be out, in a year we will finally have 8 core processors and the next Gen of Graphics cards. So the question is -  Buy now, or wait?

The other plan is to just upgrade his Ram to 8GB  and get a GTX570 for Gaming needs.

Can I build a good 3d gaming PC with only $1,500?
