Let's see how well this works out for them in the next gen, if Nintendo dominates again...
Think about all the Wii-only owners and how they'll be getting no exposure at all to Ubisoft's franchises.

If nintendo dominates again. All of the publishers are scwered. Also do we need exposure to their franchhises anyway?

Yeah, but come on, it's going to be a weak GTA clone. I just wish they'd realize why the original sold so well and go back to that, drop the on foot stuff. |
I think (or rather hope) they learned their lesson from Driv3r and how badly it was reviewed and sold. Instead of making it like a driver game they tried to make it GTA and hyped it to be a GTA killer.
If they go back to what made driver good, which was...well driving instead of shooting, and advertise it as a great action game (and not a GTA killer) then I'm sure the series can return to what it was or at least get on its way back to what it was.
Yawn, so UBISuck is going to make even more crappy games for my PS3? Oh for joy! I have enough games to play from real developers for my PSWii. Glad to see I can look forward to Babiez HD - that'll really get me to forget about GoW3.

I think those publishers might be screwed within this generation, actually. In the span of about five years, we've gone from seeing the million game sales mark as an indicator of tremendous success, to seeing it as a prerequisite for continued survival (and that's saying nothing of games like Red Dead Redemption). Since they've also systemically alienated half of the entire console market, they're burning the rope bridge from both sides. In a nutshell, they have to sell far more game to far fewer people just to get by. In the middle of a poor economy. I'd say many publishers will be very screwed, very soon.
Super World Cup Fighter II: Championship 2010 Edition
The sheer amount of boycotts in 2010 in here will be unimaginable.
Last year most of the big third party companies "admitted" how wrong they were about ignoring the Wii and commited to quality support. Now a year later after no quality support, they cry because their smelly and poisonous turds didn 't sell and threaten Nintendo they will go away. Just go away and eat your own turds.
We know so far that Sega, Capcom, Ubisoft and EA will focus on the HD consoles from now on.
But we also know that Konami, Namco Bandai, Square Enix and Activision haven't announced anything notable for the Wii since 2008 and most of their big games are heading towards the HD consoles as well as all their recent announcements. Nintendo can say good bye to 3rd party quality support for the Wii from the big companies. Maybe they should try and destroy them by buying them and letting them die or just release countless 1st party games to drown them, as well as help the smaller companies.
Disaster has occured for Nintendo, next gen might be catastrophical for them or for 3rd parties.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
Well it's the right move and the wrong move for Ubisoft. They should be nixing that crap they have been putting out on the wii, but instead should focis on a couple of top quality games for the Wii, that are targeted at gamers and not casuals.
all the money they dumped into shovel ware could have brought a new stealth series to the Wii.
And of course they should continue to focus on PS3 / 360 development the two combined sell the most software for consoles.
who's to bet that the NATAL ends up with a bunch of shovelware from these guys.

I thought someone already confirmed that most of the Ubi games for Natal/Gem were of the "casual" variety. From the way it was worded I was under the impression that some of these games may be even direct ports of the trash they've been throwing at the Wii for years. If that's the case this is clearly less of a Wii mentality and more of a motion controls mentality with them in that they seem incapable of putting together a game with motion based controls that's also worthwhile.
