Forums - Sales Discussion - Ubisoft to "refocus" on PS3/360 in 2010

But then who will I meaninglessly pick pointless fights with?!

If all these news about publishers abandoning he Wii and jumping to Natal are true, 2010 will be a very entertaining year.

Presuming that you are are as fascinated by watching disasters, as I am.

Oh man, don't be like my sister. You can spend an hour arguing with her about something only to discover at the end that you actually agree and you've just been debating a point of semantics the entire time, all the while getting more and more agitated.

I... just don't argue with her anymore.

Lol... nice.

With everyone jumping aboard the AAA & Natal bandwagon it's sure going to be interesting to watch the results.  Sadly, I'm afraid there's going to be a lot of blood when it's all over.

Hehe, as much as I love the blue ocean strategy, it'll be fun to watch it turn red too.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

hahah wheres jarrod? another dev talkng aout how wii is not the best. as i said in the layoff thread its not JUST the HD consoles that devs are worried about. nintendo better start giving out cash or i feel a snowball effect ... thats already capcom and sega now ubisoft. lets hope it ends there.

I was going to say "they weren't focused on PS360 before?" and then saw that wall of...stuff they released last year and, at least in volume, obviously very desperate in trying to make a Wii hit without actually putting forth the effort. I'm continually amazed that they keep pumping out so much trash and continually fail to get any of it to succeed year after year. I know they're claiming that they're backing off the Wii, but I still expect to see a load of shovelware list in next year's equivalent "abandoning the wii!!!" news threads.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

Ubisoft had 29 Wii games in 2009? Wow.

13 licensed games total, including:
2 fitness games in one year,
5 TV show games in one year, 3 of which are game shows, and
2 movie games.
5 games have the word Party in the title.

Only 3 of their 29 games could break 500K sales, and those were Just Dance, Rabbids Go Home, and Gold's Gym Cardio Workout.

I see no reason to believe that any one of these games lost Ubisoft a dime, because I see no reason to believe that they spent more than $50 on development. Here's the Amazon page for Sleepover Party, which has a great commercial for the game, showcasing its beautiful art and animation: http://www.amazon.com/Sleepover-Party-Wii-Nintendo/dp/B002X36HI6

Ubisoft thinks we're stupid. When was the last time they made a truly brilliant game for a Nintendo system? Beyond Good and Evil, which was a commercial flop, and available on every 6th gen platform and PC?

I expect much from Ubi when it comes to NATAL.

Expect a LOT of Rabbidz, Partyz, Babiez and Fitnesz games on the HD consoles soon! XD
