Don't worry MrFenix. NSMB has already outsold MW2 on a single platform and will soon outsell MW2 on all platforms combined. Hold on to your "larger week 7" all you want.

MrFeniz stayed relatively calm when he was typing. You, however, transcended the line between good and bad posting.

Yes, because I was frothing at the mouth like a rabie infected kitten while typing..wth are you talking about?

I KNEW IT!  That explains so much.  I am glad we got that out of the way.  So, when you going to get treatment for it?

By the way, please start ripping Gears a new one.  I want to see the infection spread!

congractulations New Super Mario Bros Wii you are the BEST of the BEST.

MrFenix- damage control in this thread is just trolling. Either give critical analysis of the sales the game has achieved or simply say what it is has done is good. But simply trying to bring it down with worthless banter is childish. This is a sales forum for games where we should pride ourselves in logical discussion of the market, not a daycare service.

Indeed the game is shattering almost all records you could imagine and selling at a pace that seems unbelievable. I'm curious how shortages will affect sales in America for the next couple of months til we get a steady supply (if by then) and how this will sell for the first 6 months of 2010 which could be vacant for big Nintendo titles.

Damage control? What is your problem? Well I do know what your problem is. Too bad I am not allowed to tell you that.

LoL. I would get treated but I have no insurance!

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Guys, quit attacking MRFENIX. He wasn't in the wrong here. Read through his posts again.

...Okay, his method for counting week 7 sales was off, because he aligned launches, while we're talking about real-time record sales. However, there was no need for personal attacks, or bringing up how MW2 and his "beloved Gears of War" are being outsold (seriously, what the hell?). Either provide reasoning as to why he's incorrect (as TWRoO did), or concede that he's correct, and NSMB Wii does not have the best 7th week sales.

Anyway, grats to NSMB Wii on its records! This is as far as it'll go in weekly sales' beating, not only are the holidays off but 8th is held by Mario Galaxy I think (871k), week 9 is San Andreas (900k).

I think it also broke the record for most number of weeks OVER A MILLION units sold.

has any game sold 1mil+ for this many weeks in a row?

Who's first week then? Hur hur hur.....

Yep, it's a new record! Made a thread about it here:

However, I think it has a shot at making a record of its own - 4 consecutive weeks of selling 1 million copies worldwide, and 5 weeks overall (one in November).

Now, this may sound a little crazy, as not even Wii Sports (bundled with the Wii) has been able to pull this off. As far as I know, only Modern Warfare 2 (PS360 combined) has managed 3 consecutive million selling weeks, while NSMB could have had a shot at 6 (if only it topped 1 million this week!).

Wii Sports holds the record for most million selling weeks total, though that's obvious since it's bundled with the Wii. The only other comparable game is if the MW2 skus are combined, it has at least 4 million selling weeks total, up to 6 if PC sold 49k week 5, or 38k week 6. That'd be an impressive record on its own, though I suspect there may be adjustments to these games, so I'd wait before declaring anything.

I think it is pretty safe to say that mario will not sell 120k+ on week 7 in Japan.

No. No it is not safe to say that. Not even a little bit.
