Less of a risk? you will get guaranteed HW moved from an exclusive, and 1.75 times the software sold, and keep MS from gaining SE as a bigger partner.

For big games like this, it pays to have them as an exclusive, or else, all of the Halo's , MAGs, etc would be multiplat.

Also, I can guarantee that FF 14 won't be a multiplat, SE will not want to deliver a substandard linear FF if it doesn't have to.

also i hope you know the real reason why mag and halo aren't multi......

yeah, basically because Sony and MS respectively have decided that these titles are worth the expense of keeping them exclusive.  Otherwise, MS wouldn't have any problem w/ letting Sony bid for multiplat.

This doesn't refute anything that i've said, at all.  It still boils down to a business decision, of what will bring the most $$$$$$$ to Sony and MS.

That makes no sense at all.  Seriously it doesn't fit with your argument at all.  If you don't understand that i'm done with the conversation.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

You do realize that we are cherry picking points, so that that are argument changes from post to post, correct? No, I understand but if you are going to nitpick about this, then yes, please leave.

Final Fantasy XIII: GOTY edition?

OT: though I will still get the game, but hearing this just makes Versus more wanting, hopefully that game will show what the Final Fantasy name can really do on the PS3.

If you mean that Sony should money hat SE then sure, but SE has plenty of reason to make it multi by themselves without some sort of incentive.  You made things confusing by responding to my post with a different argument then the one I was using without explaining it too well.   We were talking from 2 different viewpoints i believe.

They'll make it multi, if there is no incentive, but they'd still prefer a Sony exclusive over a MS exclusive all else equal b/c Sony has had more success with RPG fans.  Just sayin.

absolutely, it'll sell more on PS3, no argument there.  I wish you would have made it more clear from the start that was what your point was.

this has nothing to do with DVD vs Bluray. this is a PR drop to a gaming website to get people talking about upcoming down loadable content. Every company has adopted the policy of DLC to gain extra profits, if you don't like that concept then don't by the DLC and they'll get the message.

That only makes things worse. Why cut content and release them as DLC when you can include all that on a BR disc?

If this is true, no way in hell am I buying.

I agree I'm not a fan of the DLC model either, Consumers need to speak with their wallets, this material should have been available from release but SE is seeing it's big chance to make some serious coin.

I wouldn't mind the game being on 4,5,6,7, or 8 discs and please don't tell me its production costs. how much does it cost to buy a DVD? probably less than a dollar. It is not hte 360s fault SE was lazy so they blamed it on DVD or square enix will release it as DLC.
