Sony just cut the price and got a console redesign.

They are not cutting price for a while. 360 on the other hand, its losing steam. Price cut may happen,but not until it is noticeably below the competition for an extended period of time.

the 360 will probably get a cut.....MS has said that they will improve pricing in 2010.....the PS3 perhaps a small one like $30 or $40.

Keep dreaming. The slim might get a cut to $249, however. And as the 250GB is only $50 more than the 120GB system, so it would actually be at $299 if that were to happen.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

He comes from a mid-level investment banking and research shop.  Not as high as Goldman Sachs, but definitely a well-known and reputable firm. 

He also has a lot of executive contacts with the big 3, so his statements aren't exactly just made up.

He also predicted PS3 price cut for April 2009 then June then eventually get it right for September. I don't really think you need any "executive contacts" to make such predictions.



MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

A US price cut for the PS3 might actually happen if the sales remain below the 360 until the summer. I didn't expect any cuts for a long time on the PS3 but then again I expected the sales to be above the 360 in all regions. I think once they've lowered the costs a little more we can expect some small cuts in the UK and US to stop the 360 winning those important countries from the PS3 easily.

Neither console can win much though when the Wii dominates both of course.
