As for a Reboot. I think it's pretty funny that Hollywood is no longer hiding behind the remake excuse of "we're updating this movie for today's audiences" They're now just being honest and saying "why not, there's money to make!" |
There's no way Spider-Man is mediocre.
I don't know what kind of problem you guys have but you're all rather disturbed...
Maybe you just like to hate popular stuff?...

It's true. I always wait until I can see how successful a film was before I decide to like or hate it.

That would explain why I don't know any of your favorite movies (except Bon Cop Bad Cop - which was really bad ahah).

Ah yes... My old support Canadian films phase. I'm sure I'll get back in to some Canadian film once I go back home. Those are still good movies, though I wouldn't put them in my top list now.
I think my problem with Spiderman 1 and 2 (there's no point arguing that 3 didn't stink) was that while they were good at the time, they just don't hold up well. It was sort of a "introduction to mainstream superhero movies" A test case to see if the mainstream viewer (not just teenage boy) could buy in to a mutant action crime fighter. And once it had served it's purpose, the genre exploded, with some films being great, and others stinking. But most of those later movies all had a self-assuredness about them. They didn't have to hold your hand the way Spider-man did.
Meanwhile, Drag me to hell was one of the best films of the year. So why wouldn't I want the director of it to be free of Spiderman's web?
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.
Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!
Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.
