Platinum Games are owned by Sega these days.
A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I'm going to be the wet blanket here: Platinum needs Sega, not the other way around. Not that I put much stock in the Sega guy's comments as he doesn't seem that high up the totem pole, but if Sega doesn't think Madworld 2 is worth publishing, then Platinum games will have to look elsewhere.
I like Platinum, but its sales track record is so-so, which really limits its leverage to get sequels to not-that-popular games out on the market.
I'm playing the first one now and like it quite a bit. Seeing a sequel would be pretty cool.

I don't believe so. I think they just have a contract with Sega. If I remember correctly they are on contract to make 5 games for Sega to publish.
I would love to see a madworld 2.
1. Make the game longer.
2. Add secrets if you get ridiculously high scores.
3. Add a stale move feature so that people don't keep doing rosebush over and over again.
4 Add a boss battle mode.
5. Online leaderboard.
6. Add a co-op feature
7. Add more variety to attacks and combos.
8. Make the worlds bigger and add more hidden areas.

Its hard to ignore anything this studio does.
Viewtiful Joe, Godhand, Okami, Killer 7, Madworld, Bayonetta are all such cult classics.
They are what Treasure used to be in the early 90s.
I'll say something that will probably be unpopular - please add the option (at least in easier difficulties) to save just before the boss fight.
Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin
I'd love to play another MadWorld! Game was awesome, but I'd like it to be longer please. I beat the first one in 3 hours.
Even if they develop a new Madworld, they didn't say it will be for Wii or Nintendo console, maybe can be HD exclusive...I don't really think that would improve the sales (still is selling well) but the partnership with sega and the not really great sales of the original game are not good points for a Wii game.
