Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Underadvertisement Sets Wii Games Up to Fail

Just got my Sunday paper and was looking at the Best Buy, Target, and Walmart flyers.  First of all Best Buy omitted Wii completely and all Target and Walmart wanted to push was NSMB, Mario & Sonic, and Wii Fit (litterally that was it).

That's not even the worst part.  There were a slew of PS360 games being advertised for pre-order; Splinter Cell, Bioshock 2, Army of 2, God of War, Mass Effect 2.  Yeah these are big games but aren't Tatsunoko versus Capcom, Red Steel 2, and Monster Hunter 3 big games too?  They come out during the same time span as all the PS360 games and no one knows they exist unless they go online and look at sites like this.  On top of that I noticed the same treatment at the Gamestops, Targets, Best Buys and Walmarts in my area... walls of pre-order boxes for PS360 games but jack sht for Wii games.

This is just another example of how Wii games are being set up to fail basically...

Agree. They only hype up and advertise games they think will sell. Though they never gave a wii game a chance that wasn't made by nintendo. And people wonder why we don't get these quality games over 800k in sales

Tag:I'm not bias towards Nintendo. You just think that way (Admin note - it's "biased".  Not "bias")
(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Monster Hunter (in the west) are niche games, don't expect huge advertisements.

Welcome to being a Wii fan SnowFlow.

I know what you mean. The last flyer I looked at, I think it was best buy, had 10 xbox games, 4 ps3 games and 0 wii games advertised. They also were advertising the xbox360 arcade, but no wii, ps3 or psp.

Another flyer had 4 wii games, but they were only fitness games, with a bunch of ps3 and x360 games.

Nintendo already said they would market it...the're the publisher.

nintendo says many  things, think for yourself

Sony advertised MHFU about as well as one could reasonably expect. I wonder if MH3 will get a similar treatment

FYI Red Steel 2 doesn't have a date and MH3 got delayed. Not sure what they'll do about TvC.

U know that it's the publishers who pay the retailers for top spots of their games? So if Wii games don'T show up on good spots in a store it's the publishers fault for not investing enought money in this.

TvC is pretty much in the same league as Street Fighter and Monster Hunter 3 is no more niche than a game like Dragonage (which got lots of ad support).
