Forums - Sales - The home console time gap thread

Okay, so I like unusual stats so here I present...  The Home Console Time Gap Thread.

The Time Gap is determined by how long ago a leading console reached the cumulative sales of a trailing console.  It's a strange stat in that it expands and contracts because the consoles compete against each others' performance at different times of the year.  So... when the leading console hits the holidays, the time gap increases dramatically and when the trailing console hits the holidays, the time gap shrinks dramatically.  Because of this, please be wary of giving this stat more significance than it deserves.

My intention is to update the time gap only on a monthly basis because most of the time it will not move that much and I think it will take a bit of work to do each of the updates.  Anyway, have fun with this somewhat silly stat.

3rd place: 360 (14,414,761) PS3: 01/03/10 (0 wks) Wii: 12/14/08 (55 wks)

EDIT: I tried using colours to help readability (using the colours associated with each console on VGC).  However, I've decided to revert to plain white text because next month I'll use colours to indicate whether a time gap has increased, decreased, or reversed.

EDIT: Reversed 2nd and 3rd place to possibly make things less confusing.

For each region, there's how far behind the PS3 is from the Wii and also how far behind the 360 is from the Wii.  Maybe this is too much clutter and I should only do the worldwide numbers?  It would be a lot less work for me, but I'll do them all if people don't find it too confusing.
