Do you often pirate things on a computer?

Yes all the time 68 38.42%

Sometimes 59 33.33%

I try not to 29 16.38%

No I never pirate 21 11.86%

Total:177

So this is just a poll to see how pirating is in VG Chartz. Most of us do it but to what degree?

Sometimes its easier to pirate than it is to go through all the security and anti-piracy things to legitimately buy the product and install it.

For the most part, I really try not to. However, there are still a couple of things that I do want to get around to replacing with legit copies. On this machine, there's only 1 thing left to do that with: Office. However, a roommate recently got a Teacher/Student edition with 3 licenses, and since I do work in a school system, I might try to get one of said licenses from her. (I won't use OpenOffice because of its problem with corrupting files in the .doc format.)

Now, my computer upstairs is another matter, but since I rarely use it, I don't feel as urgent a need to update the things on it. If anything, the computer will just die soon, and then I don't have to worry about what's legit on it or not.

Just throwing this out, people that pirate music, buy more music then anyone else.

I like to try many games out before i buy them, and if I like them I buy them, as pirated versions usually have issues and I feel dirty playing them. I do the same for programs for the computer, but on both ends if I like and use the product I buy it, if I dont I uninstall it. I do however download movies and tv shows but these are usually after watching them on tv for a season and just to recapp (there is nothing like watching some shows staright through for a season marathon) or movies after renting/on demand/or watching in theatres

You know this how?

OT: Sometimes, but not often. It's usually movies.

Some apps and music, not games.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
