2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!

I think you are seriously underestimating Uncharted 2. With American sales this week, it should be at 2.65m, and given Uncharted 1 had only sold 750k by the end of its year of release, and has sold at least 2m copies without taking bundling into account, that will be good for 4m

 

Anyway, GT 5 is very obviously going to win this, as there will be no GT 6, and every gen the best selling PS exclusive has been GT. (SA was only timed) The real battle is for 2nd place, with the main contenders being Versus XIII, MGS 4, Uncharted 2/3 and LittleBigPlanet, all of which can push 5m {LBP is going to keep selling for some time}

There is a reason I left a xx I'm not too sure how high it will go. taking a second look, you are probably right and it could do 4m.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Gow 3 will sell 2 million in NA alone based on the sales of the other 2 games. No piracy too.

We dont have hard data for Europe for the other 2 games.

what are you smoking, the data is right there. We don't have weekly data, but that doesn't change the fact that we do have data. Chains of Olympus did even worse. I think it will land in the 2-3m range, which isn't bad at all. I also stated that it could do better than the first GoW, but generally it seems like the game is on a decline.

Quote me on this : GoW III will sell 2m + in Americas alone.

I said we don't have hard weekly data for Europe and its very possible that 1 & 2 sold more than those said amounts.

Either way, Europe ruined GoW's chances of being a 5m+ selling franchise. 2-3m range is quite low. 

I would say somewhere from 2.7 to 4.2 million

Japan- 1.6 million

Europe- 3 million

America- 3.5 million

Others- 2.4 million

Total- 10.3 million

Look for a 3 million first week based on positive word of mouth and marketing support. I'm thinking that this game will be the only PS3 exclusive to cross 10 million 


Europe higher

Total - 9 mil

i never understand you guys and GOW3. seriously do you guys not know the previous sales of the god of war series. god of war 3 will be around 3 million at best, based on first 2 sales. it isn't goint to be pulling 5 million or 10 million + numbers.

not sure what exclusives get for numbers, nintendo numbers screw me up so much, f*ing games getting 20 million is insane.

but reading above seems like a couple have 5 million+ so no way is god of war touchign them

I think he (playingwithfirex) was being sarcastic CGI, simulacrum was "probably"  talking about a "certain fps game" (that does not appear on nintendo or sony platforms "wink wink") that sells crackloads, but then simulacrum came and threw wii games there, pretneding to think simulacrum was talking about wii games, when i really don't think he was...(just a theory of course :) )

Uh what? Tell me, what's messed up about PS3 games not doing 30 million? Many consoles didn't have games that sold that much, and without bundling, NO game has done such yet. Again, what are you on about?

We are here to discuss sales..This sites main point is sales.. (even tho this is Sony Discussion, title cleary says Best Selling and we are here to agree or disagree)

Also so what if its great game, if that great game fails to get sales there will be no sequel,no1 will remember it, maybe whole company goes banktrypcy.Gaming is business!
