Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo should capitalize on Miyamoto as a brand

Miyamoto is far too humble for something like that. He doesn't even accept a higher salary than most of his coworkers.

Seriously? I need a source on this. Wii Fit alone has grossed over $1.8 BILLION at retail. That is one game that is still selling, and does not include all sales of the game.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

He is, realistically, directly responsible for several billion dollars of profit for Nintendo. From this generation alone. Possibly without even involving any hardware sales. The man is clearly insane, and his wife is a saint!

Starcraft 2 ID: Gnizmo 229

He's a simple man who prefers a normal salary and often rides his bike to workd then his car.

Really? he has a salary like most of his workers?
I can't believe it...

Miyamoto also is likely to do it, for personal reasons, that don't involve the usual boasting others do. He is also likely to want to try experiments that may or may not work out. He is interested in getting more Pikmin games done, that may not do huge box office.

Anyhow, everyone who cares knows who he is, and can find out what games he has done. He is in the list of top videogame designers at this point, and is argued to be the best of all them.

Here is his list:

Miyamoto is the man.

Doesn't work like that currently. I see your point but the reality is the majority don't care who's behind the game.

I'm not saying this is right, but it's clearly the case. With books, films and music the creator or main people behind it are as fetted as their works - but this currently isn't the case with games.

It could be in the future, with the growth of the industry, but right now games just aren't viewed in the same light. I think the closet thing for games is developer rating - i.e. Infinity Ward, Epic, etc. but no individuals. And even that is pretty limited to the minority of gamers.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
