He really ought to regret the lack of IR...

i am no graphics whore at all... but i was really disappointed to find out that LKS doesn't support 480p output. on my projector 480p looks pretty good, i have no complaints in almost any games, but 576i just is very blurry.
no wii game should release without 480p support.

i couldn't believe a game like madworld wouldn't support 480p either...

Nintendo fund other companies? How about funding their own games? That's the better idea.

Oh, c'mon... they're already doin' it for more than 20 years... and just give me the name of any other company who could afford to work 4 years on the next chapter of a game like Zelda?

No, really, money isn't a problem anymore for Nintendo: 3 to 5 billions of BENEFITS each year, for now 5 years, just do the math...

In fact, Nintendo's now so rich that they're in the Top 5 of all japanese companies, while Sony isn't even in the Top 20 anymore... and you see what Sony does, in music, in movies, in television and electronics, in gaming, in future 3D tech?

Nintendo has enough money to do even better, but what do they do? Fund the next Zelda, the next Galaxy, and the next Pikmin? Prepare for the successors of Wii and DS? OK, all that cost some money, but it's only a small fraction of their fortune... a very, very small fraction, believe me...

Edit: oh, and something else i forgot... Nintendo has only 4000 employees... some of them in the commercial departments, some of them in the hardware departements... which leaves "only" 2000 to 3000 guys actually workin' on games...

It's nice, but is it enough to do even more AAA games on both Wii and DS? No, not at all... the only solution is to buy some smaller companies and make them 2nd party, or do some partnerships with some talented teams and indeed, fund their games and make these exclusive to their consoles... just like Sony and Microsoft sometimes do, btw, it's nothing THAT special in this business...

But if you prefer to see Nintendo do nothing, sitting on their money, and waiting for 3rd parties to come, be prepared to wait for many many years, as we all have seen they're not comin', at all...

I am sick and tired of this crap about how Nintendo should throw money at third party for nothing. This isn't a charity and they sure as hell shouldn't help company that support their competitor. You want money? Then sign an exclusivity deal with Nintendo and become second party. Hell if you want my advice they should raise the license cost of the big third party that gave them crap support. Give them a choice, either you support our console more or you can forget any profit you make on them, see which company go bankrupt first, ill bet you it won't be Nintendo.

This is not like any third party title pushed console sale for the Wii, it's all been Nintendo. They tried the carrot by give them the fastest growing userbase in history, it's time to try the stick The carrot isn't gonna work anyway because both Sony and Microsoft are ready to go billion in the red to give them a bigger one because that the only thing that differency them and the one who got the most "win".

Persons without argument hide behind their opinion

Sux that this nice little game sold only 150K. I can't believe how bad those sales are.

3 things went wrong in my opinion:

1) No IR pointer to throw your NPC's

2) Random HP everytime you recruit your NPC's

3) Horrible PAL localization (50hz only)

If these 3 things were fixed, Little King Story would have been one of the best games released in the last 10 years. Now, it's "only" good.

Nintendo do work with other companies though? Off the top of my head, SEGA made an F-Zero and licensed Mario for the olympics, Namco a Star Fox, Team Ninja a Metroid, their Mario sports games are normally handled by an independent team, they got Camelot to make a new Golden Sun! There are other examples too I'm sure.

I don't think Nintendo really needed an RTS-lite type game in their repetoire and ultimately there are more suitable projects Nintendo could 'help'. LKS is a good game and all but it's not the sort of thing that's going to be a mainstream hit.

Bold - Isn't that the sort of arrogance that ballsed up Nintendo's domination post-SNES era? I can tell you now that will definitely NOT help Nintendo's cause.

Yeah, and i'm "sick and tired" (sic) of all these so-called Nintendo fans who understand nothing about this business, and live in their own fantasy world of a "perfect and pure Nintendo"... and btw, if Nintendo did follow your "wise advice", then they would anger the whole industry, and would be even more isolated than they are now... way to go, indeed...

And how is it so hard to imagine exclusive deals? And why is it bad business? Throw money for nothing? Give me a break, i'm talkin' about some support for some of the best teams in Japan, who don't necesseraly have the millions to develop by themselves these AAA games most Nintendo fans are so desperate to see on Wii...

Microsoft has done it with Mystwalker, and both of them benefited from that deal: it's that kind of "win-win" deals that Nintendo needs to create with some talented teams... not only for "Mario & Sonic", "Monster Hunter Tri" or "Dragon Quest IX", but for many, many great games... they have billions in the bank to do so, and you tell me that fund a few "5 to 10 million budget" and make these exclusive to their consoles is throwing money? Yeah, sure...
