It deserves it, it is better than Star Wars.

Avatar is a decent movie and I enjoyed it alot, but it does not deserve such sucess. I wouldn't even put Avatar in my top 5 movies of 2009.

^ Obviously if everyone liked that kind of movie then it would be bigger than Ben Hur even adjusting for infation.
